OK guys,

What is the protocol for supermarket fish?  My Kroger has pretty good looking wild-caught frozen stuff.  I think I saw Ecuador on some mahi-mahi.  I want to eat some stuff other than salmon.

Health / HIGH Calorie?

OK guys,

After a long time with my own health journey I stumbled upon a major blocked acupuncture meridian due to old weightlifting injuries.  Here is my problem.  Body is CRAVING calories when i work on this thing.  It just will not tolerate low calorie food.  I am craving junk food like crazy.  Trying to stay as clean as possible during this process.  So question is:

What super high calorie foods/recipes do you guys go to?  I use all the basics but any ideas would be helpful,

OK GUYS,

Why do we think people enjoy cooked meat over raw for the most part in "civilized" (ha) countries?  I understand it from a sanitation perspective and what not.  I for one follow the vibrational principle in foods.  Basically most raw fruits/veggies/plant fats are best cooked.  There are "enigmas" in nature however.  As in cooked potatoes vibrate higher and digest better when cooked.  Certain animal foods fit that category for me as well.  As in very slow-roasted low temp type of stuff.  But the point is;  WHY do we seem to be attracted to cooked meats so much of the time before we are taught or otherwise find out due to health reasons?

General Discussion / Weight Gain?

Ok guys.  Healing up.  Trying to put back on some weight.  Problem?  I am using MASSIVE amounts of calories.  Like upwards of 3500 a day.  I have had to resort to a lot of cooked, sometimes junky food to get in these types of calories.  My digestion is healing but is still somewhat shot.  Especially on the raw protein/meat or nuts digestion.  Fat digestion is improving but still sluggish.  I am needing huge amounts of carbs/sugar right now as well.  So question is; does anybody know any good ways to get in large amounts of calories without bingeing on the junk too much?  Either way, I need to eat.  Have access to most raw paleo foods and raw dairy as well.

Had some amazing beef yesterday.  Haven't had beef for a few months.  Been eating a lot of lamb and salmon.  So this was ground sirloin slowly heated in the oven (not above 90 degrees) with bone marrow melted on top near the end with a little sea-salt.  DELICIOUS.  Sat really well. Probably had almost half pound.  I was just sitting there remembering the feeling that I would have with 1/2 pound of COOKED hamburger in my stomach.  I was just curious if anyone ever gets that smile on their face with smooth burning raw meat knowing that it's so easy in the stomach and digestion =)  It's good to remember such things.

Health / Kidney cleansing?

What do we think about this one?  VEGAN diet is not an option.  Question is how to cleanse and nourish the kidneys to decongest them?  Basically on RPD right now.  A few cooked vegetables at night.  Meats include salmon and lamb.  raw butter, coconut oil, olive oil, soon other fish.  Veggie juice.  And fruit.  MMM.  Any special ideas?  I may use dr. schulze detox tea.

General Discussion / Seafood sourcing?

Hey guys,

My body tends to like fresh seafood.  Especially in the spring and summer.  Especially when raw =).  Problem is; I live in Indiana.  There are a few quality sushi places.  I get mass amounts of alaskan salmon that is amazing.  How else do you guys go about getting stuff in bulk?  Order online?  I don't really feel like going to restaurants all the time or markets.  Ideas?

Hey guys,

In fresh, frozen, wild-caught meats; is the biggest issue with "cooking" the destruction of living enzymes as in fresh fruits and vegetables OR the denaturing of proteins/fats?  Maybe it's both.  I have been warming up my salmon in hot water.  It tenderizes it and makes it a lot easier to digest.  The water temp never goes over 120F.  I wouldn't mind it a little hotter and I don't think it really affects the quality of the protein/fat but I didn't know if the enzymes destruction was an issue.

Health / Kidney cleansing?

Hey guys,

Trying to do some mild kidney cleansing lately.  Anybody know some fairly gentle methods?  Currently I am just using a few herbs in tincture form and doing some reflexology on the feet.  Diet suggestions?  I need protein right now for healing I just don't want to overload the kidneys either.  I feel that rare/raw meat does not have the same effect as in bogging down the organs as fried/cooked stuff.

Hey guys been a while,

Healing up my adrenals/digestion/brain/energy are my current goals and I have come to realize that fatty fish really vibes with me right now.  Things like sardines, salmon, etc.  I haven't tried mackerel yet.  So here is the kicker.  I live in the midwest.  The only fresh fish I feel comfortable eating is atlantic salmon from some people I trust.  I get good quality tinned smoked sardines which sit really well.  There is a fish market/oyster bar around here that sells high-quality oysters among other fish (bass, trout, whitefish, etc) but they are all SUPER EXPENSIVE. Other than that, I have access to good quality lamb, elk, and bison. Any thoughts?

Hey guys,

Meat eating is increasing a little bit seeing as winter is coming.  Stocking up on good quality meat for the season.  Found a local supplier of grass fed/finished buffalo and elk meat.  Mainly got ground meats, livers from the bison, some stew meats, roasts, etc.  Only a few steaks as they were extremely pricey.  All the stuff has been frozen but is fresh otherwise.  Do we think it is safe to eat raw/rare?  I haven't been on here for a while and I would like to increase the meats over the winter without overcooking stuff or taking unnecessary risks.  I also want to contact the guy again if he has stuff like bone marrow and other organs.  I know that elk and bison are both very lean and I am wondering how that will sit with me.  As for now my fat sources include raw butter, raw olives/olive oil, raw coconut oil, some dehydrated nuts every now and then, and some crock pot meals.  I want to find a source for ground lamb as that is a meat that really agrees with me and can be eaten very rare as well but is a bit fattier.  Ideas?

Sardines really sit well with me lately.  Currently I get the wild-caught tinned sardines that are lightly smoked and in a little EVOO.  These seem to sit well.  I found a few places that offer fresh wild-caught frozen (raw) I think in big bags of maybe 5 pounds.  Do we think these are safe to consume raw?  Or otherwise looking for good options for fresh seafood when the markets in my area do not carry it really whatsoever.  Other than that it appears to be good quality red-meats, poultry, eggs, and bone-broth as my winter proteins.

Hey guys,

Raw seems a lot easier to me during the summer.  Lots of fruits, fresh veggies, plant fats, etc.  As fall and winter are rolling in I can see me wanting more and more cooked foods, etc.  For those staying fairly high-raw, what are some things you do to stay warm in the winter?  Especially concerning food.

Ever evolving with the diet.  I don't plan on dropping out root veggies or steamed veggies anytime soon but after a lot of crock-potting, I have a question. 

-Do we think cooking vegetables in a crock-pot or other low and slow method for a few hours and then drinking the broth and throwing out the vegetables provides the calories, sugar, minerals, and nutrition from those vegetables in an easier to digest format?

 I feel like this is probably true.  When I use things like carrots, parsnips, etc my broth always tastes very sweet.  I personally think some fiber is good for me, but I currently eat a lot of fruit right now so I don't think the vegetable fiber is that important.  What you guys think?

Probably found a clean local source for bison, and elk.  These generally good?  I'm trying to find some mainstays over the winter as i know i will be indulging in more animal foods but i don't want to get stuck in a rut with only a few foods.

Ok guys.  Eggs are iffy for me at the moment.  Pretty sure i was eating maybe 4-5 a day for about a month developed an intolerance or whatever.  Anyways, trying to find more basics to round out the diet.  These are just proteins I'm looking for.  Currently:

-salmon sashimi (delicious)
-raw eggs maybe twice a week
-beef liver here and there
-crock-pot chicken/turkey
-avocados sit very good with me
-raw nuts are ok every once in awhile

Honestly, my body seems to be in cleansing mode and getting by with not too much animal foods but it still wants some.  I guess maybe getting some other types of seafood and red meat.  Steak is sounding pretty good.  I haven't experimented much with the red meat except for liver and some bone marrow here and there.  Do you usually eat bone marrow by itself or with a muscle meat?  What cuts of red meat are good mainstays?

Where would you guys live if you could choose the best place for optimal diet/lifestyle?  Factors would include:

-long growing season
-access to clean air/water
-clean wild fish/game
-mass of farmers markets
-good atmosphere in general

On a side note: what do we think about eating wild game raw?  As in like deer, wild boar, rabbit, squirrel, fish, waterfowl, etc.

What do we think about good travel foods?  The downside to the healthy diet is that fresh food goes bad quickly =)  Planning a few road trips in the near future.  Open to ideas for what to bring.  So far the list looks as such.  I will have a cooler.

-eggs
-raw soaked nut butter
-fresh jerky
-fresh fruits
-avocados
-maybe giant batch of cooked veggies
-sardines


What you guys use?  Thoughts on dehydrated fruits and veggies (zucchini, potato chips, etc)?

General Discussion / Natural Disaster?

Natural disaster hit my area.  Had no power for 2 1/2 days.  Kept stuff on ice best as i could but frozen atlantic caught salmon thawed out.  Probably 10-12 filets.  I don't think refreeze is a good option.  They are in the fridge currently.  I'll probably eat a few sashimi style in the next few days but no way i will eat all of them.  Any ideas?  Best i got is that my brother eats cooked salmon a lot cooked in skillet.  I'm thinking about just grilling/baking most of them and then freezing them so he can just reheat later.

Exercise / Bodybuilding / best muscle gaining program?

Hey guys,

Recovering from probably lyme, adrenal issues, toxic overload, etc.  Not much spare energy in the tank.  Trying to regain some of my muscle weight from before i was ill.  Lifting heavy weights is out of the question as my nervous system needs resting.  So basically I'm using bodyweight training, good nutrition, and loads of rest, with some qigong to facilitate recovery.  Any ideas on eating plans, regimes, etc?

General Discussion / Who is to blame?

As i crack open a few raw eggs for breakfast I think about something that pops up in my mind a lot.  Who is to blame for the terrible diet/lifestyle most people in America maintain?  How did "Good" food become "gross?" How did "normal, natural" food become only something "health nuts" eat?  It just seems so backwards to me.  God/nature created all of the real food, but we have been taught to reject it.  I don't think there is a real "answer" to this question but just wanted to see some viewpoints.

For me, I think there is no one group to blame.  I think human's are gullible animals that can be programmed by other human beings.  Humans such as those that work for food corporations, pharmaceuticals, some governments, religious institutions, etc.  They know how to play tricks on people.  Also, I think we are creatures of habit and convenience.  Unfortunately, in America, most people relay their own responsibility for their health into the hands of corrupt upper class.  So i guess i blame people up top doing the programming primarily, but also ourselves for not listening to God and our inner voice about what is "good" and what is "not good."

General Discussion / High calorie foods?

Hey guys,

Doing a lot of healing/cleansing.  Body going through a lot of calories.  Trying to stick with everything but having trouble finding healthy high-calorie snacks for when I'm needing a lot of fuel.  So far, good options seem like

-raw nut butters
-raw eggs
-avocados/other fats
-steamed root veggies with good fats

My body does not need any more protein and i can only do so much with the rare animal foods.

Any favorites?
