Well not chicken breast only...but chicken breast as my primary (90%) of my  meat source. I've been doing this for a couple of months. But I've been eating it with other food sources like vegetables, fruits, nuts, and some  fats.

I don't typically suffer from autoimmune reactions. Although since you do ask, I had experimented with drinking  raw milk for a year or so, and towards the end of that, I also began to get negative reactions  from it. Perhaps it has something to do with the length of time and over time an allergy develops if it's continually ingested.

As for the chicken quality, it was the non organic costco (or supermarket) variety. The quality is not good. The organic chicken  breast is twice as much per pound in cost, and paying twice as much for the same grain fed meat seems silly.

I prefer white meat ( fish, chicken) to red meat. So, sticking true to my preferences, I've switched to primarily fish to my meat source. This time I will vary it up and switch the fishies around in their varieties. Adding in some offal is a good idea. I'll try that. Thanks for the help and for the sounding board.

eating chicken whoops, not steaks. That makes sense about getting other nutrients from organs and meats,

my question is what do you think can account for the sore muscles and joints? and can it be attributed to eating the same chicken breast, meal after meal, day after day, month after month?

Hello everybody,

Recently for the last couple of months I have been eating as my primary meat source, about 3x a day for a couple months. I've noticed that over the last month I've been getting progressively worse soreness in muscles and joints, and I have not been doing extra exercise. I was wondering if it can be due to the meat antigens, that over time have started to cause autoimmune reactions, and whether switching up the meat sources would resolve this issue? I normally rotate all other types of foods like carbs, fruits, etc.

Thanks for the help!

General Discussion / Re: Cant do asian squat!
« on: May 09, 2013, 12:16:15 pm »
i think you should loosen your calf and ankle muscles/tendons by stretching. eg yoga

one yoga pose that is helpful is called downward dog, and downward dog with leg raise is good too. I would practice these stretches for some time and then try the full squat because it can be unnecessarily painful if you are not flexible enough, as the shins hurt and it's not productive in my opinion since it's not about strength but flexibility.

Hot Topics / Psychedelic experience on mustard greens
« on: May 08, 2013, 11:26:16 am »
I had a psychedelic experience from mustard greens. I weighed out about 40 grams of the substance, about one half serving of vegetables. I took the first mouthful and bit it, chewed, and swallowed it. As I swallowed it, I could feel the heat in my body rise, my nostrils were flaring, and this burning sensation traveled up my throat into my mouth. It felt like a dragon blowing hot fire out of its mouth.

I took the 2nd bite. More burning, but this time it it surged into my head. My brain felt like it was exploding into a thousand miles. As soon as it came, it left. The taste in my mouth felt like wasabe from a sushi dish. 3rd bite, now my body was becoming unresponsive to the flames. It still burned, and it was hard to think, but I no longer felt scared. I knew the initial, middle, and final stages of this plant. It was no longer a mystery. I was becoming blunt to it's substance.

Afterwards, I had to write this to share this experience with you. It's important to share these experiences with each other because we can learn a lot from each other. And though the experience itself was quite distasteful and painful, I am experiencing a lingering euphoria that has started ever since I took my last bite.

Lol, although that may be true, there is an advantage of having people have different skills and talents. It's probably inborn to have varying levels of intelligence, it's simple diversity. Plus, it's all relative....even a stupid person on the planet is relatively more intelligent than an ape

Hey what's up everybody,

In my genetics class, we have a textbook and in a chapter on gene mutation, it says:

"Another group of chemicals that cause mutations are known as adduct-forming agents. A DNA adduct is a substance that covalently binds to DNA, altering its conformation and interfering with replication and repair. Two examples of adduct-forming stances are acetaldehyde (a component of cigarette smoke) and heterocyclic amines (HCAs). HCAs are cancer-causing chemicals that are created during the cooking of meats such as beef, chicken, and fish. HCAs are formed at high temperatures from amino acids and creatine. Many HCAs covalently bind to guanine bases. At least 17 different HCAs have been linked to the development of cancers, such as those of the stomach, colon, and breast. " pg 383 Concepts of Genetics 10th edition, by Klug, Cummings, Spencer, and Palladino

This is interesting because this textbook is part of a mainstream science curriculum at a university. Pretty cool since it gives credence to raw paleo foods (or abstinence from meat). Although a family member pointed out that it didn't describe in this passage what high temperatures were.

Health / Re: Dental health
« on: April 12, 2013, 03:18:23 am »
One interesting observation is that since bone is vascular (has a blood supply), it is capable of healing itself and remineralizing. That's why, when bodybuilders workout with heavy weights, not only do their muscles get stronger, but their bones do too. That's why it's recommended that senior citizens do weight bearing exercise to keep both their muscles and bones strong. Since teeth are bone, they are affected by the same physical "stresses". So, chewing on something tough and fibrous (like red meat) or hard vegetation like carrots or apples will stimulate the teeth to get stronger as the blood will carry calcium and other minerals into the teeth and onto the areas of the teeth where the stress is being placed. This is really effective, and along with other protocols such as dental hygiene without using enamel destroying substances like certain toothpastes, along with diet and getting the proper nutrients and minimizing sticky sugary foods and blood sugar spikes has in my experience made a satisfying difference.

Recommend the book "cure Tooth decay" by Rami Nagel. It has a lot of suggestions regarding diet and how the specific nutrients in specific food promote tooth remineralization and reversal of caries. Tried his advice myself (to a certain extent) and have to say that it appears quite effective. YOu might find the book at the library.

Health / Re: Middle of night cravings -- help please
« on: April 10, 2013, 12:58:13 pm »
Hey everybody,

That's all very interesting points. No idea what carb/fat ratio is, but eat about 6-8 servings of fruit a day and usually low in the fat department....maybe an egg or a handful of nuts(besides these nighttime nightmarish binges, which, also happen in a half-sleep state) per day. Usually wake up half unconscious, and either have to use the restroom, or wake up and head straight for the kitchen,  standing there for a few minutes, just staring at different items of food. Part of the brain involved in self-control and observing ego must be asleep because, after waking up, though I remmeber what happened, it's difficult to say that it was 'me'. I think it's a blood sugar issue too. Blood sugar levels are usually way less stable when eating lots of fruits, which I'm pretty fond of

An issue I have with fat is that I'm concerned about atherosclerosis. Clogging up the arteries and early heart problems are something I'm trying to prevent. Don't really know whether fat in the diet increases it or not but that's what it says in a lot of health articles online.

Health / Middle of night cravings -- help please
« on: April 05, 2013, 11:25:10 pm »
Hello everybody,

Been focused and selective about eating for a couple years now, but the last 6 months or so, have developed this bad habit of waking up in the middle of the night, in a half sleep-stupor state, and eating a couple of handfuls of nuts like almonds, cashews, whatever is available. Sometimes even eat granola bars, lots of em, and fruit, like a big bowl of dates.

personally, don't think this is caloric or nutritionally related, even though the foods have been munching on are very high calorie and sometimes starchy.

Anybody have any advice or suggestions? Typically, if determined, can withhold reaching out for food for a short period of time, maybe a few days or a week, but then the habit creeps back up. Please help!

Thanks for the great tips everybody! Agreed that yoga is helpful!

Still hasn't healed, but the massaging and acupuncture will definitely work

Exercise / Bodybuilding / Re: Getting muscles on RPD
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:31:43 pm »
I learned from a book by Brendan Brazier that, when post recovery, when muscles are inflamed, they need blood to shuttle nutrients and take away wastes (like lactic acid). Anti -inflammatory diets will decrease the stress of the body thereby allowing recovery to take place faster. Faster recovery means you can work out again sooner, putting in more workouts in the same amount of time. Thus, you can get stronger than you would if you had not eaten an anti-inflammatory diet.

His was a vegan approach, but anti-inflammatory means what it means. I'm sure that, depending on how meat is prepared, it can be relatively more or less inflammation causing. Eg highly deeply fried meats = highly inflammatory

Omnivorous Raw Paleo Diet / Re: Anyone into Chia Seeds?
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:14:24 pm »
Whattttup !!!

I eat chia seeds when I can find them. Usually though I'll get flax seeds, and run them through my Samson juicer ( with accessory oil attachment extractor), and make fresh flax seed oil!!!

check out www.nutritiondata.com on flaxseed oil

it's got like a 8:1 ratio of omega 3 to omega 6. highest ratio of omega3 : omega 6 of any plant seed/nut out there.

General Discussion / Re: Dried Mango (and other fruits)
« on: January 10, 2012, 01:49:19 pm »
From all the companies I've called, the non sulphite dried fruits are heated to quicken the drying process (i.e. not raw) Although I have ordered dates online that were from a explicitly stated raw foodist (the date people). ...

Most of the dried fruit I've seen is sulphited. I think it's OK to eat dried fruit sometimes, it's better than a piece of bread. I'd prefer the non sulphited ones . if it's organic in the U.S., it's automatically non-sulphited

I wish I could eat ovaries too. Has anybody tried them?

My csa is also a dairy, so they don't butcher girls. And I haven't seen any pigs or sheep left, for this year, but next summer I will have lots. And I know Nstar bison has them sometimes but you need to call, I don't need anything else from them so I would have to pay the shipping fee for just 1 set of ovaries. $$$$ Maybe if somebody on the site would like to add them to there next order then report we could all have the benefit of the info.
I don't notice fish eggs have an effect on my hormones, but they have always from a freezer, love them
I've been enjoying plain beef,  keifer cheese, suet, and marrow. I had tried lots of new stuff like , wild duck and goose, and adrenals which felt good to me but I only took a small bite each time with surrounding fat, also I tried kidney again. I had liver and heart which I like but I over did the liver and it was all very strong before I got this fresh cut. It feels so comforting to eat mouth watering muscle roast.
I HATE KIDNEY. I have tried so hard to like it. I have tried it raw, cooked (multiple ways), frozen, fresh (that is best the day it was taken from the animal, I have tried cow, lamb, and pig... and I have tried high kidney, I've tried them all lots of times, but nothing is tolerable. I want so bad to like it b/c my mind says that it's good for me and eventually I will like it, but not yet. Does anybody have any recipe ideas? Maybe if I mix it with lots of sauce. I haven't tried soaking it in milk, but that's next.

hi, the way I like to eat kidneys is that I blend it with r. milk and make a smoothie. Sometimes i will sweeten it a little with dates. Usually room temperature

He seems to be in constant trouble and the cause is very often raw dairy, legal proceedings and other unnecessary quarrels, one after another. Nobody needs raw dairy to become healthy. Raw milk is a well-known and well-documentated cause of human health disasters. Hollywood raw foodists just don't want to see this reality.

BUT, and this is the second important aspect about raw dairy beside addiction, you need dairy to PUMP up your body as fast as possible. The distorted views about healthy body compositions are really a big problem in the US and Europe, IMO.

Löwenherz

that's true he seems to be involved in a lot of legal action for raw dairy, ....even though he probably eats a healthy diet, all that stress of legal problems probably isn't healthy either. I like how he's standing up for what he believes in, but even the healthiest diet doesn't totally cancel out the effects of other lifestyle factors like proper sleep, exercise, and low stress. didn't Aajonus say that he only sleeps 4 hours a night with a 1 hour nap in the day? Seems like a very low amount of sleep...maybe that's why he sounds so irritated all the time. or maybe it's the dairy that does that.

24
They have interviewed people like Aajonus V on their show, so they are open to different views. I'm not sure who any of these doctors are or their approaches, just thought I'd post it for anyone interested

Actually, anyone know how to download the videos? I can play it on a stream but they are only up for 24 hours, ....but I can't d/l it with realplayer
