Health / Re: Weak Adrenals/Lyme?
« on: February 26, 2012, 12:07:59 am »
Thanks guys,

I definitely know the raw fats/proteins (especially egg yolk, raw butter) really help with the adrenals.  Part of the problem is that the adrenals are fighting off the infections/inflammation.  Has anybody done one of those "egg yolk" liver flushes?  I think i'm getting to the point of wanting to do some sort of flush but i have never heard of it before and don't want to screw myself up.  I have done coffee enemas before but debating doing a big liver flush of some kind.  Jessica, i agree sometimes more is not necessarily better.  Sometimes i end up pushing too hard with healing and backslide a little.  The body can only do so much as one time.  I am basically following klinghardt protocol for lyme.  I agree about the "internal terrain."  I mean it's not like lyme is a new illness, it's just expressing more with weakened immunity/energy levels.  I will probably add in some anti lyme/parasite herbs in the future but it seems like the main thing is getting all the organs clear and healthy first.  That is where most of my symptoms come from anyways.

Health / Weak Adrenals/Lyme?
« on: February 25, 2012, 11:07:55 am »
Hey guys,

had adrenal issues for past few years. anxiety, stress, etc.  gluten/dairy really screwed me up. immune issues/possible lyme.  On GAPS diet basically but keep shifting more towards the raw except can't eat raw veggies.  Basically on raw fats (coconut, olive oil, raw eggs, raw kefir, some nuts), lots of steamed veggies, some saurkraut, and cooked animal protein.  I eat my beef/lamb/fish pretty rare.  Anyways, trying to recover my body.  Main problems are adrenals, digestion/elimination, liver, chronic infections (possible lyme).  Anybody been through similar stuff and had success recovering?

Appreciate

I do have a large supply of fresh atlantic salmon that has been sitting really good just lightly broiled so yea i will work on that.  I just had a mix of some beef "heart/liver/ground beef" very lightly cooked in some stock and it seemed to be alright.  I think it's just my system getting used to it that needs to happen.

Sile,

I'm basically in the same boat as you, except i have weak adrenals and maybe lyme.  I am drawn toward the raw foods i think because of the enzymes my body really needs but i can't handle the roughage.  I am on a GAPS diet also.  Easiest things for me are blended soups, but raw eggs, olive oil, coconut oil, butter all work.  Use a juicer to get some extra carbs/sugar without the digestion

I think the main issue is that my gut is inflamed and has bad bacteria/parasites, etc and has for a few years.  So i know this problem is not going to go away in a week.  Right now i am following basically the "GAPS diet."  I naturally feel like shifting over to raw fats/eggs is good for me.  When i do the raw protein (liver) in a shake it works because it is already blended up.  Vegetables just irritate my system/cause constipation unless cooked or juiced.  If i tried to eat a raw steak i feel like it would just sit in my stomach.  I use saurkraut and fermented foods and what not.  I feel like maybe sitting on what i am doing now on GAPS is going to heal up the system a lot.  But i definitely feel like my body will accept rare/lightly cooked, ground meats before it accepts raw meat.  Kind of a vicious cycle.

Oh, also i have a hard time handling raw veggies unless juiced.  Fruit and raw nuts seem to be ok though as long as the fruit isn't straight out of the freezer.

Hey guys,

Chronic health issues.  Possible lyme.  Weak adrenals.  Bad digestion.  Everything is getting better slowly.  I do eat paleo but not all raw.  Raw fats/oils.  Raw eggs.  Meat is a problem for me.  Every now and then i do a "raw liver" drink which is starting to taste and sit well but it is mixed/blended up.  I most likely have a "leaky gut" and have tried to eat raw/rare meat before.  If it is not really finely ground up it seems to sit in my stomach.  Is there any way to ease into this?

Thanks

Hot Topics / Grains/Beans Healthy?

Hey guys,

I am new to all of this and my body is definitely leaning me towards more raw proteins/fats over cooked.  This diet world just seems so crazy with people everywhere having different opinions.  The biggest thing i can't seem to understand is that you have a ton of asian cultures that managed to live into their hundreds very healthfully off of grains.  They soak and prepare them properly of course.  Do you guys think that all people are genetically similar or do you believe there are differences that make some people better at eating meats and some better at eating more plant matter?  This is my biggest question when it comes to nutrition

General Discussion / Food combining
« on: September 30, 2011, 09:24:31 am »
Hey guys,

I am new to all this raw animal protein stuff.  I am aware of the typical food combining rules but am having a hard time coming up with meals.  I'm fine with raw eggs but they don't exactly seem to mix with a plate of vegetables.  Any tips for food combining or staple dishes you guys use?

Welcoming Committee / New to raw animal foods

Hey guys and girls,

I have had health issues for quite awhile but am on an ever changing diet.  I am basically listening to my body for the most part and going where it leads.  I was very gluten-intolerant and went on a super low carb diet for awhile.  No grains, beans, etc.  Lately though, my digestion has healed and i am feeling more carbs and adding in some beans/grains in small amounts.  I definitely still need animal protein but in less amounts.  The thing that i notice though is the raw animal protein in general seems to be better for my health.  I don't have much experience yet with it all.  My brother and I do raw butter and a little raw goats milk here and there.  I am starting to add in some raw eggs.  Anyways, any tips for a new 25 year old male on how to ease into all this stuff?
