Primal Diet / Re: Goat or Cow Milk?
« on: October 05, 2013, 04:50:32 pm »
You will never gain weight if you drink goats milk, it's impossible, I've been drinking goats milk for a year and stayed slim.
This summer I had a craving for cows milk and I gained weight within a week.

Brilliant article! I enjoyed reading it.
I have a question. How old is your vegan girl-friend?  I think she is great, very open minded person.

Primal Diet / Re: Raw Cheese: Types, Brands, Sources, Reviews

I love raw cheese, Brie and Camembert are absolutely delicious but I get constipated after eating them. I can't eat a slice or two, because I can't stop until I finish the hole box :-))
It's a fairly small box of Camembert but I get constipated every time I eat it.
Am I the only one who gets such a horrible side effect?

I'm shocked by the news about sudden death of AV. What if it is not true? I really hope it's just a hoax.

Lex,
Urine therapy does work and if your diet is absolutely wonderful, your urine is the best medicine for all of your health problem.
I'd try everything if I were you. I had the most awful experience with doctors and medication.
You might need to clean your colon, not sure if you've had it done before. I'd recommend it to everyone.
I felt as if I was born again after I had it done.
Im a not a doctor but I think prostate gland might suffer if the colon is not perfectly clean.
I hope that you will try it before going under the knife or anything else that your doctors will advise.
Good luck.

Hi, Lex.
If you drink milk instead of water,  you won't have to get up 3-4 times per night to urinate. I had a similar problem in the past. Milk helped me to solve the problem.
I use organic milk only.

General Discussion / Re: another sucessful black vegan
« on: August 18, 2013, 09:17:49 pm »
In 2011 after 11 years as a vegan, Jim explained to us how he made the transition from meat eater to vegan. When he started competing he was aware that the traditional bodybuilding diet of animal protein had consequences for health, but he was eager to compete and win, so continued with it. "It was only after I retired from competition in 1985 that I started considering my health and eliminated what I had over the years identified as the cause of my digestive, respiratory and joint problems, namely all animal sources,(beef, fowl, dairy, pork and fish). I continued having fish on rare occasions as my "treat"."

Aged 64, Jim developed a medical condition that sharpened his outlook. "In 1999 because of a nerve condition I consulted a cardiologist, neurologist, rheumatologist, hand specialist, acupuncturist, chiropractor and two pain specialists from Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. Had a brain scan, an MRI of my neck, another of my entire spine, had an unnecessary carpal tunnel operation, suffered Vertigo from interaction of medications prescribed by several of the above and continued to have the problem. A friend got me in to see the Chief of Neurology at the Norton Hospital in the USC Medical Center who advised me to try to endure the pain and the problem may clear up on its own. Which it did. The horrific nightmare of an experience so terrified me that I determined to do everything in my power to never again fall into the clutches of the Pharmedical Industry. I stopped eating fish and all processed and refined products."

In 2004 Jim joined the millions of people around the world who had been struck by the evidence in "The China Study" by T Colin Campbell, a book that Jim describes as "my bible". Jim continues to eat a healthy diet, and his website contains many photos which continually amaze visitors with his physique. He loves fruit and nuts, and is critical of synthetic foods with no nutritional value.

Unsuprisingly for an athlete who competed for thirty years and inspired people for 45 years, Jim has wise words for the rest of us. "Health and well being are a way of life. Not a certain diet or set of exercises or any other single area, but a combination of all the aspects of your life. Accept full responsibility for yourself, your health and your choices. The western civilization culture is anti health in that it is designed to produce profit not health. Read up on epigenetics. You control more of the genes which differentiate you from other humans than you realize. You are your own creator and creation."

If you really want to get hold of a thyroid, (or any other organ), you can always go to a park and catch a small animal (rabbit, squirrel, etc) or bird (duck, goose, etc).

 ;D ;D ;D

Hey Michael, have you ever been to Ukraine, where Yuri lives? I've been there and haven't seen any animals in the parks except pigeons. And it's very hard to catch them without being arrested by ukrainian police (miliczia). >D ;)
Your advice made my day, thanks!

The sad thing is I actually fell for this nonsense myself.......more than once I might add -[,
Lex

Thanks Lex, your sense of humour is incredibly good, you made me laugh ;D
I do believe in the theory about toxins and poisons that are leaving our bodies as soon as we switch to a 100% raw food diet.
The best description of the whole process can be found on the website founded by famous Stanley Bass.
According to him, all we can do to speed up the process of detoxification is to let our body rest as much as possible.
And that's what I'm doing these days. It works for me and many other people - plenty of rest, pure water and raw food (no silly detox aid or other nonsense).
However, I do have a secret detox weapon - it's hot water in my bath! (helps me every time and brings so much pleasure and relaxation) ;D
And it's the best aid for headache and other ailments/detox symptoms/healing crisis etc.

I think he's edging his way toward a permanent ban, but I'd like to give him a little more latitude first.  I'm not married to the idea of giving more latitude, I just think that we've given him a lot of research to look through, and he needs a little time.

A Leopard never changes its spots  l) but I think that permanent ban is too harsh!? do you believe in giving people another chance?

Hey, Kyle! What's your blood group? And have you ever read the book at all? :-))))))))))
I'm type O and all my best friends are blood type O too, including my ex-partner of 9 years  ;)
I was surprised to find out that subconciously we tend to like people of the same blood type.
By the way I get on with any people but tend to get really close only to those who have blood type O ( close friends, lovers, partners, I can write a book about it).:-))))))))))
In Japan you have to disclose your blood type if you want to apply for certain vacancies, and Japanese people believe that relationships/marriages last longer if both partners share the same blood type ( and I totally agree with that).

Hi Cosmo

Yes, I could be a translator. This is actually my second profession. I even have a Master's Degree with a corresponding diploma. Ukrainian is my mother tongue, I know Russian perfectly, Spanish a little bit... So, plenty of options ;)

That's really cool! I'd love to learn Spanish and move to Spain, probably to Barcelona.
I plan to visit Ukraine one day, I love Ukrainian staple food - raw pork fat (salo). I buy it all the time from a local Russian/Latvian shop.
Do you ever eat salo? It's supposed to be good for you. Do you ever eat raw egg yolks and raw liver?

You guy's should read his journal before giving anymore 'diet' advice or water melon flushes!!! he's tried
everything!  :)

Hey, what is a water melon flush?? :-))))))))))))
Water melon FAST is great for kidney stones, I know quite a few people who tried it and cured their kidneys.
Water melons are only available for a couple of months in Ukraine ( in the end of summer)

Hmmm... somehow I don't feel any desire to "cheat" to eat rice or eat cooked meat or eat pizza.

+1
That's exactly how I feel after eating only raw food for a year ;) Though I've been craving chocolate for the last couple of days... Apart from chocolate, I've never had any cravings for cooked food like pizza and cakes.

FRUITS = POISON.
;D ;D ;D thanks for that, you made me smile!
My favourite fruit is pineapple and I love grapes ( black and red/seeded). I don't consider them as poison, but I do eat them rarely as a treat and to be honest I feel less energetic after eating them (probably because of the high sugar content).

Raw Kyle, you're talking out of your ass.

You have no idea what you're saying. Read D'Adamo's books or shut the **** up about it.

D'Adamo's theories are controverial, but at least get half a CLUE what the theory is about before you talk nonsense and try to debunk a life's worth with your infantile ignorant statements.

I think that this comment needs to be deleted as it's very rude and offensive.
What do the moderators think?

SuperInfinity, you need to stop eating too much fruit, you behave like a monkey. Monkeys don't have any manners, do they? If you eat the same diet as them you will start to behave like them.
It's very dangerous.

Health / Re: Foot Fungus
« on: July 10, 2009, 03:08:03 pm »
I've had foot fungus for like 8 years now.
Any advice for curing?

Hi there! What's your diet at the moment? Do you take any medication?
For how long have you been eating raw foods? Are you nearly 100% raw? Do you consume too much of carbs?
Sea water is great for foot fungus and loads so try to swim in the sea every day if you live by the sea ( if not book yourself a holiday ;-) Do you wear rubber shoes at all? Rubber/plastic materials are very bad for your feet!

20
Last time I checked sausages don't occur in nature, and I believe red meat can give you cancer.

You're probably talking about cooked red meat? Are cooked fruits good for you? what would happen if you eat only cooked fruits every day?

21
well if you've only been doing a real fruitarian diet for two to three months i dont think that qualifies you to say that it's the best diet for you. you gotta give it more time. when i tried fruitarian i felt pretty good for a good solid two months but then started literally deteriorating. teeth were horrible and i lost way too much weight. i'd give it time

+1
That happened to me too! ;) My gums started to bleed after 3 months of raw fruit and veg diet. I was always hungry, lost loads of weight, had terrible mood swings and felt euphoric after consuming too much of sweet fruit.
I think that some people sometime enjoy that euphoria too much, they get addicted to it and start to believe that fruitarianism is devine :-))))))))))))))))))
Many people are addicted to sugar and fruits have loads of it. Fruitarians mistakenly believe that sugar in fruit is different to refined sugar and is safe to consume in large quantaties, but it's totally wrong.
Our body still have to produce insuline to get rid of excessive sugar levels in our blood.
Anyway I don't have time to write an essay about the dangers of fruitarianism. All I want to say is that I stay away from fruits as much as possible. I eat raw fat, raw fish, egg yolks and a little bit of raw meat and I get enough fiber, vitamins and minerals to be able to lead a happy/busy life full of joy and love. And I thank God every day for pointing me in the right direction. I've never been so happy in all my life!

Hey, Yuri!
Your English is great, where did you learnt it? I bet you can find a job as a translator.
As about your kidney stones, I'd like to suggest conducting a 24 hour water-melon fast ( eating nothing but water melons all day). Water-melon juice dissolves kidney stones.
Hope it helps.
Good luck.

I really enjoyed his book, it saved my life by pointing me to the right direction ( towards raw paleo).
Thank God for his theory, the guy is a genius!
All of my family members found his theory nearly 100% correct, my close friends benefited from it too.

Hello,Haida! I have blood type O too ;) and raw vegan diet nearly killed me ( I only did it for less than a year)
Now I eat raw meat, fish and organs and feel great, so the theory about blood types worked for me and for my family ( most of them have blood type O). My mother started eating raw meat and liver and her health has improved a lot!
I try to avoid carbs and stick to raw protein meals. And I prefer vegetables to fruits.
Thanks for bringing such an interesting subject into the forum.
Haida, what's your experience with raw dairy? To eat or not to eat? I crave raw cream even though it's a big no-no for our blood type. :'(

Great picture! Thanks a lot. It made me smile :D I'm sure that those people drink blood and eat liver first and then eat flesh. (I saw a documentary about that part of nothern Russia some time ago)
