Thank you, Miles :)  I wonder why they even mention it in that way.  Maybe they're trying to keep people from milk straight from animals or raw milk by implying it usually causes diahrea (which it never has in my family nor people I know irl).

A vegan green smoothie made me deathly ill.  I tried herb tea to help, but it gave me more of a problem.  Many months later on advice I tried green smoothies other ways, like with some kefir or egg or honey.  I didn't get as ill, but definitely sick to my stomach.  I say be careful what you put in your smoothie.  You might have problems with greens or certain greens or blended greens or combining too many foods in a blender.

There are great smoothie recipes in Recipe for Living Without Disease.

They're saying he doesn't have diahrea. I'm assuming that means he had diahrea before he starting suckling from the cow?

...I thought I might try grinding it up, or making it into a paste in the food processor...or??  ...

Good.  I mean, I've tried blending it and using a food processor, but with heart and liver there are strings/fibers/skin/veins and such in parts of them, and works only if you dice it carefully first.  I don't have a meat grinder, but sounds like it's made to grind meat!

Carnivorous / Zero Carb Approach / Re: Measuring fat/protein ratio
« on: September 13, 2011, 06:15:14 am »
Hello hello carnivore, welcome to the forum, I see this is your first post.

If you have a hundred gram serving of meat, and it's red meat or chicken breast, it's easy to see if it's all lean.  One gram of protein contains 4 calories.  One gram of fat contains 9 calories.  It's a simple question of math.  Have you figured ratios in school?  Anyway, with the serving I described there would be at least four hundred calories.

There are some sites and programs online that list the amounts of macro-nutrients in many various foods including many meats and seafoods.

...has a freaking feeding tube), eczema, etc. I've known for a long time that all of his issues stem from his birth process (home birth to emergency c-section). His gut got wiped out, first by not coming into the world via the birth canal, and second, by the antibiotics we were both exposed to. We've struggled for two years to get to this point and now we're feeding him raw meat, this is day 4. ..

    How's it going?

Off Topic / Re: GAY Military Magazine COMING to US bases!
« on: September 10, 2011, 04:45:08 pm »
I just don't like the idea of military at all.  As far as lesbians bunking with straights, I'm straight and have bi female friends.  I have had no problem sleeping over their homes, even in the same room, which I have done.  Actually I've slept with a bi male friend in a room, now that I'm mentioning it.  As long as there is respect, there is no problem.  I've never had a problem with them.  If you know you're straight, who cares if there's a gay person sleeping there?  In the military though, I don't know.  Maybe the straight soldiers are all masturbating lined up in their bunks, and don't want to mess things up by introducing a gay guy.  Military are messed up hormonally anyway, with all their canned food and experimental medications.

General Discussion / Re: How long does suet last?
« on: September 04, 2011, 01:29:45 am »
Still sealed in plastic?  How are you talking?  I had some I bought that I never opened the plastic.  It lasted over a year (frozen).  It didn't go bad, it was still good when used.  I know butter loses something when frozen.  Butter has a higher water content.  That may be why.  I don't know of any tests on suet to see how long it lasts or what percentage of nutrients are lost etc.

I've had fish liver, chicken liver, calves' livers, lamb liver etc.  I liked them all, except beef liver.  It smells strong and bad to me.  I have amalgam, but I never felt sick from raw liver.  I have felt super sick from cooked liver.  Why don't you try some other liver?  The rest taste much better.

Cherries and pineapple?  Liver is the one food I prefer alone as a meal.  It's good in some combos, but I never tried it with fruit, besides lemon.

Subject Animal: grass-fed, free-ranged cow.
Subject Organ: liver.

I'd say that my reaction was disfavourable.  My wife soaked the liver in apple cider vinegar, and mixed in fresh green onions with it.  A new way to have liver and onions!

... It was a small portion, roughly a table-spoon's worth, and a nice deep red colour.  I spooned about half of it into my mouth and gave it a cursory chewing.  ...  I dared myself another try, and managed to get it down, too.  On the third little bit, however, I attempted to cushion the ... by chewing up an almond stuffed olive first, and then layering the liver on.  Didn't work.  ... the rest of my meal (dark cherries, and pineapple)  Perhaps it was the mixture of liver and blood, or perhaps it was ...

In any case, the rest of my family ate heartily, and reported quite happily that they would like more.  I could not eat any more though.

My wife suspects that my adverse reaction may have been more emotional than anything else.  There's merit in that theory, but I'm honestly unaware of any negative or ambiguous emotions  ...

On the other hand, because I have not been able to afford the astronomical bills that would accompany the removal of my amalgam fillings, I have to wonder if there was some sort of reaction between the organ meat and blood, and my fillings. ...

What were your reactions to first time organ meats and blood consumption?  ... Or are there instances where people's particular constitutions cannot stomach certain things (e.g., blood, as it seems in my case)?

46 but still amazingly low, which we all know is of the utmost importance in lipid tests.  My total lipid panel is similar, I'm very happy with it.  Did your doctor try to offer you a way to lower your blood cholesterol?

Can you get 100% grass-fed chicken in the UK??

When they are free to eat in the open pasture all day, what they eat there is mostly insects I believe.  I've seen chickens run from grass and chase after and eat lizards instead.

Hot Topics / Re: Coriander kills bad e.coli!
« on: August 31, 2011, 09:30:16 am »
I love cilantro leaves and coriander seeds when I'm in the mood for herbs/spices.  Coriander is delicious in raw eggnog made with raw egg, raw milk and unheated honey.  It tastes better than nutmeg or cinnamon which can be neuro-toxic or an irritant anyway.  I heard the coriander kills salmonella.  I know it's not paleo to use milk and spices in a blender, but this is the Hot Topics section.

Cilantro tastes delicious blender into a raw salad dressing and served on raw fresh green salad.  I don't know if it prevents e.coli.

General Discussion / Re: how long is beef good for after thawing?
« on: August 28, 2011, 07:19:50 pm »
Big Brother here in the USA is making it harder and harder to get raw natural foods. I feel lucky when I can find anything that has not been pasteurized or deep frozen. We have more diversity and offerings here at our farmer's market than most places in the country to boot. I can get duck eggs with the blooms still on that are only refrigerated and processed in no other way. This week, I'm going to call and see if they would be willing to bring me some that were not refrigerated. That's a major find that I couldn't locate anywhere else I have lived.

It took me half a year to find a source of grass-fed raw milk (it's like the underground railroad - quite secretive) - so I'm sure I'll find some good fresh unfrozen grass-fed ground raw beef or lamb eventually. Whre there's a will - there's a way.

I know there have been Primal Dieters in Austin.  I've never been there.  From what I've heard previously, it sounded like one of the best cities in the US to avoid a lot of the garbage they 'feed' to the rest of the country.

As for ground lamb, good luck!  I don't normally get ground, but I ordered some in an order from a farmer.  He charged me for it, but that part did not ever arrive.  Don't think I want to order it a second time.  What about grinding your own?

    Who needs Omega-6?

- This means it is considered bad if I enter in the kitchen (.... Kitchen is practically ruled by my mother).

If you do something they consider bad, will they shoot you with a gun immediately?  It is considered bad in my family if I do any of the things I need to do.  I hope you find a way.

These recipes aren't exactly raw paleo, but the meat is either raw or fatty organs, and it should be acceptable in a Pakistani kitchen.  Of course I would recommend you eat it without the bread, but don't know if they would consider you bad then.

General Discussion / Re: kidney transplant
« on: August 12, 2011, 10:40:04 pm »
One of the reasons that triggered me to start a RAFD was to heal my kidneys that I believe could have wound up on dialysis eventually if I hadn't changed course dietarily.  I was actually reading about nutrition for animals, but it hit me that this may have been unexplored for people, yet be something that works better than what's already offered.

Another thing is fifteen -twenty years ago I was looking for nutrition to heal failed kidneys, but my trusty family owned health-food store proprietors who seemed to have good ideas for everything else basically said you're just out of luck when it comes to failure of that organ.

It was so good to read of raw animal foods healing failed kidneys, even if it was in animals.

My urinary system does feel better by eating RAFs.

    RAFs really help prevent rejection/autoimmunity.

I'll send you something.  Also, I feel high meats help me a lot with my kidneys, especially high kidney.  Thankfully I was never on dialysis though, although I know it is a blessing to get the treatment.

Why not consume (relative to percent of PUFAs) products that have a very skewed ratio of omega fats (high 6, low 3) and yet little omega fats at all---in high doses? eg. lbs. of grain-fed beef(high fat), tallow, eggs, butter, etc....

You know tallow is fat rendered from fatty tissue by use of at least some heat.  Why not eat brains or other fatty tissues while choosing between types of fats, DHA may be helpful to the health.  I know my cats always eat the mole's head first and usually are so satisfied they leave the rest of the carcass over.

I thought bacteria quickly infest anything that has  had bacteria removed from it.

    Usually.

You could be right. Or .. maybe without the bacteria the irradiated food would get fungus, mutated bateria and viruses?

Excuse me Wolf if this is gross. M.P., I have fermented bison tongue and other meats that got houseflies growing on it. I ate some of the maggots. Nothing bad happened to me. When on RAFDs for a while, the whole disease germ nonsense you realize is blown way out of proportion by crazies.

Yes!!ousefly is the most dangerous animal to humans in modern times because of the pathogens it has. Obviously, great apes do not get sick and die routinely after eating hundreds of insects, but I'm just musing over why we can't eat them raw as-is.

Recently I've been wondering about little flies and insects and what human activity must be doing to their

life cycle. It must have upset it in so many ways, many must have mutated and evolved along with humans. This could then affect some other life cycle of other bacteria/organisms, even the ones within us. Almost anything can happen when you throw a spanner in the works of an ecological system like humans are doing.

It seems only an electronic method to kill bacteria. Any proof that it disrupts other processes?

They use gamma rays, electron beams and x rays to irradiate food, raw meat ... Got that from cdc.gov. Also it kills all the microbes, e coli etc. Afaic x rays do not belong anywhere near anything that comes in contact with my body, and my body seriously needs aerobic bacteria to the point I am best off not eating anything treated.

The meat I ate with hubbie was cooked. I tried to eat prosciutto di parma next and nearly killed myself (or that is the way it felt). My energy field stopped turning clockwise and started spinning counterclockwise. I could not stand and was in terrible  physical pain. But I have no idea how that meat was raised or killed or if it wasn't even irradiated or not.... and all that regular salt - I never eat that.
Do you think that the physical pain from eating the prosciutto was ungrounded or the fact that I could perceive my energy body?

Prosciutto is so dry, it's nothing like soothing raw meat, even if it hasn't been pasteurized.  AV says salt swells thereby causing pressure on nerves, so- pain!  I know it's tempting to be led by your tongue's taste buds, but it might be better to think things out first, and stick to a plan, IMHO.  You know, that meat is so dry, I would call it cooked.  AV says cooked meat can never be eaten by certain people.  Judging by you having been vegetarian so long, I'd say you might be one of them, or close to it if that is possible.  He also of course says salt is not on the diet, except perhaps a few grains of salt a week in certain rare circumstances, and that salt is more commonly consumed on grain diets.  By my observation in this forum, some of the ZC'ers feel better with a little salt, especially if drinking no celery juice or no blood or eating no celery or seaweed, as those three have salts in them and make the animal a whole food.

General Discussion / Re: Raw paleo breastfeeding?
« on: August 03, 2011, 09:27:06 am »
during this time were you transitioning into raw paleo or were you already full eating raw paleo? Thanks for the help!

I have no personal experience breastfeeding paleo, unless you count my Mom having breastfed me as a baby on a mostly cooked paleo diet.  That's why I say get involved with a current group of actively naturally raising parents, specific to parenting.  I was almost entirely vegan if not entirely the whole time I gave breast milk.  Breastfeeding still has benefits to the child and family, even if the milk isn't always perfect.
