Title: cheese
Post by: personman on March 04, 2012, 07:47:01 am
A simple question: should one include cheese in the diet? I do but am seriously considering eliminating it to avoid calcification of the soft tissues and casein protein. What are the communities' thoughts on cheese and its benefits/detriments?

If you're going to eat it, I'd recommend supplementing with magnesium in some way. Also, watch out for any strange symptoms, and don't overeat it.

Raw pumpkin seeds are very high in magnesium and very low in calcium. Try those instead of regular supplements.
Even AV has stated that raw cheese can cause constipation, I think. At least that's what it does to me. Also, lots of raw cheese is heavily salted(at least in the UK), which is not good.

Maybe it's just the raw cheese source (which is our dairy farmer), but no constipation for me. She uses no salt.
Regular cheeses are a nightmare for me. I cannot touch them. Ayurveda says they are indigestible except for Paneer.
Seems to be a non issue with the magnesium also.

I am currently in Norwestern Ontario soon to be the lower mainland. Are there any Canadian groups on the web?
