Omnivorous Raw Paleo Diet / Re: EGGS
« on: August 17, 2009, 12:44:48 am »
So far, have only been able to eat the egg yolks, fertilized or unfertilized... does not matter to me. I love them!!! When I eat the eggwhite too, I get a sick feeling in my stomach, I don't want to throw out the egg white, so I mix it into the dogfood. Of course, they are on raw food too. Seems, they prefer beef and turkey, but mainly beef.

Health / Re: Nightshades affect Arthritis, no doubt...
« on: August 15, 2009, 09:13:20 am »
About 20 years ago, I had arthritis in my hands and knees. My hands where in the beginning stages of that tell tale deformation and I was in constant pain. Nothing worked and I was on my way of conventional medicine, steroids etc.  At the recommendation of a Naturopath, I did a trial elimination of all night shade vegetables for a month. Within a month, I was pain free. I have not added any night shade vegetables back into my diet. The deformation in my hands had 95% reversed. It makes me soooo angry with the conventional  medical community!!!! Instead of taking people off certain foods first and see if that works (like in my case), they pump people full of chemicals that puts their health in a downspin.

General Discussion / Re: Bean Sprouts

You make me feel a lot better about it. Had my first raw meat today. Marinated yesterday a steak, cut into thin strips, (organic of course) in lime juice. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!!! It was not hard to chew at all. My first all raw day.

General Discussion / Bean Sprouts
« on: August 03, 2009, 02:09:12 am »
I am a Newbie to this site and the RAF life style. I do not have an issue with most changes. Have been vegetarian but find, that I need some meat in my diet. I gave up grains several years ago, but will miss my raw goats yogurt. Otherwise I am fine, except with bean sprouts. I have enjoyed my sprouts from beans and lentils and have a very hard time to give them up. Would it make a big difference in the adherence to the RAF if I continue eating sprouts? I need some help here and am counting on your input.

Thank you

General Discussion / Re: Tea?
« on: August 03, 2009, 01:57:08 am »
The flavor you are talking about depends on the type of tea you are drinking. Gunpowder tea is very smokey and has an even more pronounced smokey after taste. I have been drinking green tea for years and no matter what, will continue.

What you are going through is the die off of the Candida Albican. You will feel miserable for a few weeks.... and then your head will clear, the symptoms will start to disappear. I lost 8 pounds eating more than I did before. You need to eat vegetables too. Research what you can eat to replace the healthy bacteria in your colon. I ate organic, plain yogurt, which is not allowed on the Paleo diet. When you go on a Candida diet, you NEVER eat anything processed. You also do not eat leftovers. Good luck. It is not difficult, but you need patience.
