General Discussion / Is variety important?
« on: September 07, 2018, 02:52:34 pm »
This is probably a dumb question, but is it healthy/safe to eat a limited variety of food? For the past month or so I have been eating pretty much the same thing everyday. For breakfast and dinner I eat ia ota, basically it's cubes of raw meat or fish marinated in lime juice and sea salt with vegetables and coconut. I mostly use wild seafood and occasionally grassfed bison or lamb heart and I make 2 versions. One is with tomatoes, cucumber, green onions and jalapeno or habanero and the other is with pineapple and dragon fruit and I add fresh coconut cream. Between the 2 meals I eat tropical fruits like banana, papaya, guava ect. Eating like this makes me feel much better than I have in many years. I have a lot more stamina, I feel stronger, I think more clearly and sleep better plus my muscles are getting bigger without me changing the way I exercise.

General Discussion / Anybody eat lungs?
« on: July 21, 2017, 07:30:32 am »
I found a place that sells bison lungs and I'm curious about trying them. Does anyone here have experience eating them? Are there parts that are inedible and should be removed, is it tough and chewy?

Health / Meat turning blue and green
« on: March 14, 2017, 06:24:21 am »
I left some steaks in the fridge partially uncovered for a few days because I forgot about them and they had blue and green streaks. They didn't smell bad or look slimy so I tried eating one and it tasted really good. A little after I ate it I got a high that lasted for about 30-40 minutes. I heard the blue and green is caused by "bad" bacteria so is dangerous to eat or is it ok since it tasted so good?

Edit: Normally I seem to have problems digesting regular raw meat so I make it into jerky and the blue and green meat didn't cause any problems but I'm still nervous about the color change.

Health / Is it ok to mostly eat dried meat?
« on: March 02, 2017, 09:57:00 am »
I have been trying to eat raw for a few weeks but seem to have problems digesting meat that hasn't been dried or cured so I'm mainly eating homemade bison and elk jerky (mostly heart, liver and kidney). I can eat completely unprocessed glands like adrenal and thymus, marrow, suet/backfat and fruit. Should I just keep trying completely raw meat and hope I eventually can eat it without problems or is it ok if I keep eating the jerky as long as I'm also eating the glands and fat that are completely raw?
