I'd probably like to hunt with spear, bow/arrow, dagger etc if I was going to do it.

What do people think about urban-wildlife? Pigeons, rodents etc..?

I don't know which religion(Islam?) it is, but the one that doesn't eat pigs, it's because they roamed the streets eating the people's scraps and garbage so they considered them not healthful to eat. I'd think it'd be the same with pigeons and rodents, etc..?

I would think that the reason our teeth are less vicious than other predators is because we have hands... They use their teeth to attack and maim, not just to eat.

I've ran(and walked) through the summer and the winter; sun, rain and ice barefoot. I'd never run, travel long distance by foot or play a (foot)sport with shoes on again. They're very useful to keep warm when you're inactive though =) Shame that it's hard to get hold of soft-soled winter-boots.

Could it be because of the fairly high amount of unsaturated fat in butter?

Yon... When you get the 'pain', do you feel like you have to stay really still when it starts, to not make it worse? Like you have to freeze(movement), and let it 'calm down'? And if you were to suddenly move again it'd shoot with pain, and then after freezing(as in no movement) you just sort of relax for a few mins, and then you  get back to whatever you were doing?

I thought gout was just another term for 'Chronic Inflammation'? Which would include acne. Lots of people find they stop their chronic inflammation by not eating carbs. Liver and Egg happen to both contain carbs(above trace...), though in much smaller amounts than fruit.

PaleoPhil, might be a reason not to dry your meat on that rack.

Well I'd think it'd reduce the quality/bio-availability to some degree. I'd also think that the micro-nutrient profile would decrease more rapidly.

With the cells ruptured, they may be more accessible to bacteria, which would mean the freshness would decline quickly after thawing so I'd think you might want to eat it quickly after doing so, some may even like to eat it frozen?

I couldn't say whether or not it's dangerous, if anything that'd depend on how you went about it.

To age meat don't you really need hooks?

The water in the cells crystallises, rupturing the cell-walls, allowing the cells' contents to spill out.

Well, then those will be the ones which have evolved alongside us, non-harmfully and which we could even have developed a certain amount of dependence for. That does not mean that all bacteria are nice and want to look after us, they don't do it to be nice, they just 'found' a niche.

I don't know about the Kidneys, but sometimes if certain bacteria like e-coli survive the stomach and get in to the intestines they can damage the adjoining organs. I guess that's one reason to make sure you only eat when you've got plenty of stomach acid?

But... the bacteria will be converting useful compounds, compounds which we could react within our body to release energy, in to useless compounds...?

I think there is a human birth-name 'Vegeta'. It seems unlikely that many people would name their child 'vegetable', lively would be more likely there =)

pc707, as we were under evolutionary pressure, animals were what we ate. There is no food were are better adapted to than raw animals.

However, this is a general statement to counter yours that: 'we will all know now the possible dangers of excess animal food consumption.' Based on the results of one observation of yours. If you are talking mass-wise, then excess consumption of animals could be negative. If you are talking proportions, then I don't see how that could be the case except in relation to water.

=( I have nice fresh vacuum-packed grass-fed beef, but one of my briskets got frozen because it was too close to the cooling-part of my fridge =( It's lame, I already put cushions around it but somehow it still happened.

It's strange that they must ship it frozen, I thought vacuum-packed meats, bar mince, could stay fresh for months in refrigeration alone?
