Title: Orientation poll
Post by: TylerDurden on November 18, 2010, 08:15:17 am
Out of boredom, I decided to do a sexual orientation poll, given that absurd Weston-Price thread re homosexuality(anonymous poll as always, of course). I am somewhat dubious of diet changing anyone's sexual orientation but am including that as a possibility. I have already done a religious-poll and PP did a politics poll, I think, so it's all useful re data, I suppose. I am hoping that no one will click on  "other" as an option but am including it purely for the sake of completion.

I'm hetero.
I'm curious to see if anyone has changed their sexual orientation, either way, since going raw paleo. I'm of the mind that same-sex orientation is influenced by both nature and nurture. I personally doubt diet alone would change one's preference but you never know.

BTW, you forgot to make your selection TD. ;)

Heh, this poll reminds me of the Psychology class surveys I did, mark where on the line are you between homo and hetero, lol, I never knew where to mark.

I voted "other" as I never want myself of terms of sexuality, for example if there are a few days where I happen to not think about any sex at all then I am "asexual" during that time. But I just read you don't want people to click on "Other"...ooops, so I guess I would choose "bisexual" as an option too - even though I heavily lean towards men, but I find a woman's body is beautiful.

@ drj
I think diet could influence it if it has a very high level of hormones, like gorging on Soy perhaps, but otherwise I agree diet has little to do with sexuality. Those are the terms commonly defined, but whenever you try to define something as broad as sexuality you run into limitations.

By "orientation" , I mean what is your main inclination, which would mean you should have clicked on "heterosexual" - if you swung both ways in an active sense re both , then "bisexual" would be more appropriate. It gets needlessly complicated otherwise as everyone has different interpretations which are not, IMO, relevant here. As for the "other" aspect, I was thinking at the time that the only other options left, under "Other" would be things like zoophile/mechanophile/necrophiliac and did not really want RPF to be associated with such.

WTF!!! How weird... Lol was this in canada school?

I voted hetero, women are awesome. but I wonder if any gay men would eat raw beef and suddenly think... hmm pussy sounds good now. LOL  the last gay dude I met was actually on his way to eat sushi, so I doubt it.

Mechanophile LOL i saw that on tv, I refuse to believe anyone was born with that disposition. Healthy meat could probably put an end to that. but when they woke up the shame might crush them

Funny poll Tyler.
I wonder who claims to have become bi after going raw.

Is homosexuality a new novel thing in your countries?  Because homosexuality is old and boring in my country.

WTF!!! How weird... Lol was this in canada school?...

Yes, in Psychology class in CEGEP (college you attend after highschool and before university, or career)...
Its not that weird considering its psychology, well it is but compared to the other weird things in school its not.

....under "Other" would be things like zoophile/mechanophile/necrophiliac...

 :o
OK, then in Other I choose zoophile...
specifically ' "zoophilia erotica", .... defined as a sexual attraction to animal skin or fur.'!  :o
Having sex on a real fur bed, underwear/bikini made with real fur....thats all sexy to me ha ha

....Mechanophile LOL i saw that on tv, I refuse to believe anyone was born with that disposition. Healthy meat could probably put an end to that. but when they woke up the shame might crush them....

Some of the "diagnostic criteria" for mechanophiles:
- "Purchasing a dildo"....... LOL? Really?
- "Hugging pillows"....crap
....."Obsession with Transformers porn."  ....I am cracking up now!

Lets have a sexual definition for any sexual feelings/thought about everything other then 'penis is going into the vagina', then we will have a million options....

By the way wild animals also have these "fetishes"...I doubt a natural diet is a cure because its only we that feel we have to cure these things.

.... Because homosexuality is old and boring in my country.

Yeah, thats why we have to start talking about the zoophiles and mechaphiles etc! See what I mean....then those will become boring too some day. We just pay 99% attention to too many things that don't need so much attention.

No, by "mechanophile", I was referring to a sordid documentary I found indirectly  on youtube which was about some American men who were into shagging  cars. But, I suppose "mechanophile" could mean having sex with any object whatsoever as long as that object was the object of affection.

Then your are Vampophilliac!   >D

....about some American men who were into shagging  cars....

the way some guys fuss over cars, they might as well be having sex with it. It no surprise.

....I suppose "mechanophile" could mean having sex with any object whatsoever as long as that object was the object of affection.

Thats what is means...a dildo is just as inanimate as a car...and this sort of thing is prevalent in many humans no matter if they were hetero or homo, and in many animals too.
Thats why whole definition thing is funny and erroneous, something to help us understand things we can't understand.

Well, I consider that inaccurate as women are mostly not having sex with the dildo, that is they are fantasising about human beings with the dildo simply being a sexual aid. If a woman fantasised about the dildo directly, then that would be mechanophilia.

hmm..I never thought a woman might be fantasying about the dildo, or perhaps...another dildo.

Then your are Vampophilliac!   >D
i'm not sure i'm a Vampophilliac. I just have kind of a beggars-can't-be-choosers model going when it comes to women that still move. Plus the almost certain death keeps my fetish in line.

you guys would be surprised
You know in porn sexual scenes with only inanimate objects are a major category, and one thats been around forever.
One of the biggest purchases for sexual couples is some sort of inanimate toy.
Few women will actually reveal their true fantasies to you by the way, so when you say things like "most women fantasize about A and B when doing C" it only represents an opinion/illusion....
I actually worked with the porn industry for a little while (not going to mention anything more specific) and I learned quite a bit about the common fetishes of seeming very normal people :P
The way I view it, sex with a car (as weird as it is) - is just an extreme version of a common infatuation of getting pleasure or watching someone get pleasure from an inanimate object. And in pretty much everything we do there is always some people which take it to further extremes, not thats thats good or anything.

...Plus the almost certain death keeps my fetish in line.

lol, but what if she doesn't kill you and turn you into vampire instead, you'd be immortal, all the time you want  ;)

i know for a FACT that this has to do with diet and nurture, because when i dodnt have many girl friends in my life for a year or so, i was never atracted to guys, but pondered homosexuallity. since going paleo (3months ago) i still have not any any action (lame/WAY TOO LONG), but am really interested in girls and never EVEN HAD ANY OF THOSE THOUGHTS.  this to me is prove that now my hormones are clicking right as i cant stop focusing on some girls i like in class. im willing to be patient for a good relationship and not b a whore.  ;)

np. lol. i figure why not, a bunch of strangers kinda. (No offense). i like this forum cause i find it for betterment/honesty trial and error, used to better one another/inform. its easy being honest to people that are more like characters kinda. i find when people open up to maybe "private" or whatnot experience we develop more as a group and it engages more people.

lets get one thing straight tho...I NEVER HAVE OR SPECIALLY WILL NOW ACT ON THESE FEELINGS lol. just curiosity

Hetero.  I've never had sex with a woman (nor a car nor the dead nor any weirdness), nor wanted to.  I can see a woman (and animal fur) as beautiful, but that's it.  I like women as people, and men too (and children), but I'm sexually attracted to a man.  My feelings may have been changed slightly sexually since starting RAF, but not as far as orientation.  When I don't eat dairy, some things are different, but sexually I don't think so.

The point is that women are mostly people-oriented, according to numerous studies, whereas men have a well-known love of objects (albeit, in all but a minority of cases, this love is strictly platonic!). So, while I do not deny that women have the possibility of fantasising about inanimate objects, they are much less likely to than men.

What are these well known loves of men for objects, which are the common objects? You are talking about studies but it sounds so broad it can be applied in any way. What about many stereotypical women's loves for shoes, clothes, make-ups and skin care products, appliances, fitness gadgets and so many other of these inanimate objects that many women obsess about? Its different from most of the stereotypical men's object obsessions but they are the same just different objects! What's the difference between a guy obsessively hovering over his cars and some woman wandering around her walk-in closet city of shoes? Nadda.

I remember in high school me and my best friend said: "I love you, man, but... you're no a girl."

The point is that women are obsessed about relationships, and relationships invariably involve people. Men are far less people-oriented, so are far more likely to be oriented towards objects. Besides, all the objects you cite are designed to make women feel more attractive re their own bodies, rather than the object itself being the attraction. Not so with men and their objects:- take men and cars, men and ships(which, interestingly, get christened with female names on a routine basis!) etc., where the man does not see the object as a part of his body or uniform but as a wholly separate entity.

...all the objects you cite are designed to make women feel more attractive re their own bodies, rather than the object itself being the attraction...

C'mon, were on a forum where there is a bunch of men obsessing over their meats and how raw and wild or organic everything is.
We all know other things too like exercise, all these things have to do with our bodies as well.
Men and women have differences I agree, but generally were are the same just different focuses, the principle is the same.

One woman I know is obsessed with her camera equipment, the others are with their cell phones and "gadgets", the others with many other material/inanimate things...I see men being just as sensitive and social as women, everyone has the similar issues and obstacles to obsess over or overcome. I don't see the big difference except the exceptions.
Title: Re: Orientation poll
Post by: TylerDurden on November 19, 2010, 02:12:14 am
I view it as a matter of degree. I mean, one finds men having countless collecting manias for all sorts of objects throughout life such as baseball cards, stamps, cars etc. etc., which women do not have to the same degree. Sure, there are exceptions such as Imelda Marcos and the like, but they just prove the rule.

WOMAN + CELL PHONE = SHIT THEORY
Just revisited the thread, and realised that the above is incorrect of course, as cell-phones are things that women use as a means to contact other people so are not the target of affection, as such.
