Offbeat/Satiric music
« on: July 26, 2008, 07:26:52 pm »
I've just become a real fan of  satiric songs(the Uk's Ivor Biggun(eg:- "Graffiti Night Fever" , and especially the US's Weird Al Yankovic(eg:- "Don't Download This Song" etc.) I've never heard of them before. Anyone else a fan of Yankovic?

There's a new generation of that imo with "Tenacious D" and "Flight of the Conchords."

Yeah, I was gonna mention Flight of the Conchords, but I decided they weren't really "satirical". But I loooooove their Hiphoppopotamus song

Bloodhound Gang isn't really satirical, but definitely offbeat, and their songs crack me up. They're pretty crude though, so if you don't like that, I wouldn't recommend them.

I remember Weird Al from way back in the 80's. I'll have to check out these new satirical artists!

Yes...affirmative... I love  "The flight of the Conchords" at the moment. 'I'm the Hiphophiphopapotamus my lyrics are bottomless!'
I really like 'Sellotape, the tape of love' 'Leggy blonde' 'Robots' there all great.
