How to Open a Coconut at Home the Fastest Way

I remember being frustrated at seeing a video of someone showing how to open a bald coconut for coconut milk. The guy in the demo was poking holes in the coconut “eyes”… and taking an abominably long time to finish the entire process. My eyes rolled.

Well here is how to open a coconut at home the fastest way. I live in coconut land, so that’s all the credentials I need.

Step 1 – Get bald coconut on palm of left hand and expose the axis on top. Have a basin ready at the bottom of your hand to catch coconut water.

Step 2 – Get your big heavy knife and flip it for the blunt edge ready for striking the coconut across the axis / equator.

Step 3 – Strike once hard, the coconut will split across the axis and release the water. Pry open with knife if needed to release the coconut water.

Step 4 – If the coconut is not entirely split open, turn the coconut 90 degrees across the axis and strike it again a SECOND TIME. If you don’t finish opening a 2nd time, strike a THIRD TIME.

That’s it. Coconut open.

Jubilant Russian scientists are carrying home 40 liters of relic water, which waited for them, unblemished, in the Antarctic, long before the man first trod the Earth. Lake Vostok’s treasury is ready to reveal its millions-year-old secrets.

­Forget the world’s economic crisis and civil war in Syria: the severe, majestic Antarctic is opening up its eternal fridge to the mankind. Scientists at Vostok Antarctic research station – drilling towards the largest freshwater tank, corked for 20 million years in eastern Antarctica – secured several dozen liters of prehistoric water.

Drilling through over 3,700 meters of quality ice is no fun, especially if you do not want to contaminate anything lying underneath. The international community has been grinding into the glacier for 30 years. Rival Western expeditions have been using the hot-water drilling method – boiling the ice – which is slower but cleaner.

On February 4, it seemed to finally give way, when the drilling machine plunged into water! The ice taken to the surface by the drill was glazed in a way only water could do. The machine also brought back 40 liters of water – frozen, naturally, given the temperature in the crack never goes higher than -55 Centigrade and all the 3766 meters it had to travel up.

But the next plunge proved the work was not yet over.

The following day, drilling liquid gave a sudden massive splash – some 1,500 liters of kerosene and Freon poured into special containers. The scientists first held their breaths, skipping several heartbeats. But there was no doubt any more: Vostok had opened up! The lake water, rising up to 40 meters due to under-pressure in the crack, pushed the drilling liquid back onto the surface. 

It had cost the team 3.3 additional meters of drilling.

Relics of ancient life, clues to climate change, the whole history of planet Earth – scientists have everything to look for in the lake. The biggest closed ecosystem ever found, Vostok is as alien as the lakes on Jupiter's moon Europa.

But carving a threshold to this science treasury is not the only triumph for Russian scientists. Their technology to drill into the pristine waters and preserve them immaculate has proved to be efficient. This is the reason the project halted in 1998 just 130 meters from the lake’s surface and did not resume till 2005: the world community feared contamination. Russian technology, involving the kerosene-Freon drilling liquid, helped to avoid that.

Now the scientists are heading home. The water they collected from the lens just over the lake is traveling with them in special sterile containers.

The team will come back to the station in a while to take samples of Vostok water, which is believed to be “twice as pure as double-distilled water.” They say their success is the best present to Russia celebrating Day of Science on February 8.

This information about hair has been hidden from the public since the Viet Nam War .

Our culture leads people to believe that hair style is a matter of personal preference, that hair style is a matter of fashion and/or convenience, and that how people wear their hair is simply a cosmetic issue. Back in the Viet Nam war however, an entirely different picture emerged, one that has been carefully covered up and hidden from public view.

In the early nineties, Sally [name changed to protect privacy] was married to a licensed psychologist who worked at a VA Medical hospital. He worked with combat veterans with PTSD, post traumatic stress disorder. Most of them had served in Viet Nam.

Sally said, "I remember clearly an evening when my husband came back to our apartment on Doctor\'s Circle carrying a thick official looking folder in his hands. Inside were hundreds of pages of certain studies commissioned by the government. He was in shock from the contents. What he read in those documents completely changed his life. From that moment on my conservative middle of the road husband grew his hair and beard and never cut them again. What is more, the VA Medical center let him do it, and other very conservative men in the staff followed his example. As I read the documents, I learned why.

It seems that during the Viet Nam War special forces in the war department had sent undercover experts to comb American Indian Reservations looking for talented scouts, for tough young men trained to move stealthily through rough terrain. They were especially looking for men with outstanding, almost supernatural, tracking abilities. Before being approached, these carefully selected men were extensively documented as experts in tracking and survival.

With the usual enticements, the well proven smooth phrases used to enroll new recruits, some of these indian trackers were then enlisted. Once enlisted, an amazing thing happened. Whatever talents and skills they had possessed on the reservation seemed to mysteriously disappear, as recruit after recruit failed to perform as expected in the field.

Serious casualities and failures of performance led the government to contract expensive testing of these recruits, and this is what was found.

When questioned about their failure to perform as expected, the older recruits replied consistantly that when they received their required military haircuts, they could no longer \'sense\' the enemy, they could no longer access a \'sixth sense\' , their \'intuition\' no longer was reliable, they couldn\'t \'read\' subtle signs as well or access subtle extrasensory information.

So the testing institute recruited more indian trackers, let them keep their long hair, and tested them in multiple areas. Then they would pair two men together who had received the same scores on all the tests. They would let one man in the pair keep his hair long, and gave the other man a military haircut. Then the two men retook the tests.

Time after time the man with long hair kept making high scores. Time after time, the man with the short hair failed the tests in which he had previously scored high scores.

Here is a typical test:

The recruit is sleeping out in the woods. An armed \'enemy\' approaches the sleeping man. The long haired man is awakened out of his sleep by a strong sense of danger and gets away long before the enemy is close, long before any sounds from the approaching enemy are audible.

In another version of this test the long haired man senses an approach and somehow intuits that the enemy will perform a physical attack. He follows his \'sixth sense\' and stays still, pretending to be sleeping, but quickly grabs the attacker and \'kills\' him as the attacker reaches down to strangle him.

This same man, after having passed these and other tests, then received a military haircut and consistantly failed these tests, and many other tests that he had previously passed.

So, the document recommended that all Indian trackers be exempt from military haircuts. In fact, it required that trackers keep their hair long."

Just rambling and thinking assembling this concept in my head.  Chime in with your thoughts.

I'm thinking the human race hasn't seen raw paleo diet for a very long time when agriculture and civilization started until the 20th century when refrigeration and freezing technologies were invented.

Which in effect makes raw paleo diet a "new" rediscovered diet.

Also explains the needless suffering of most of humanity on cooked, SAD, agricultural diets.

Raw Paleo Diet would not be here if it weren't for refrigeration technologies.

Of course, cooking causes toxins. But the more important question is: How much of these toxins can be handled by the human body?

This is relevant to my family.  I'm on raw paleo diet. My first born son is on raw paleo diet.  And I have 2 younger kids on cooked paleo diet... sometimes raw.  So I'd like to optimize cooking methods to less AGEs.

Any thoughts?  How much AGEs are we humans adapted to?

Good news that my 1st born son is healing in his debilitating eczema misadventure.

Unaffected were:

Sis in law (44) - regular active badminton player, stress free person

Symptoms:
- Diarrhea, bad smell
- Fever, Flu like head ache and body pain

We have done / doing:
- drinking activated charcoal
- giving barefoot dewormer
- zapping (worked wonders on 1 maid)
- pyro energen
- carbo betule
- tried oregano oil capsules on the worst hit maid

Giving Gatorade and Hydration Salts.

Giving in the mid day, they had some rice porridge with organic chicken broth.

What I had changed in the house:

- stopped drinking from the home filter, bought  water from the local water store and bought distilled water from the stores
- dumped all the rice, bought new
- dumped the rice cooker
- changed all the dishwashing liquids to a different brand.

We will try to get stool tests tonight.

Tomorrow we are scheduled, the entire gang for Beam Ray at 7:30am.
