Well, thank you all for your input. I am glad I posted the discussion. There is aLOT about D'Amado's Blood Type Diet that I do not  believe to be accurate. But it was wonderful for me finding that I am an O type. As of now, the most healthful diet I have found, is raw paleo. It is also the most difficult for me because of lack of recipes for the family. I do also enjoy Weston Price's work, and that of Bernard Jensen.

Hi Cosmo, I have found such a remarkably, positive change from following some of the blood type diet. Especially psychologically! Although I do not believe all of the book, I have found a basic truth to the difference in blood types. As far as dairy, it is better for me to stay away from it. If I have a little, once in a while, it does not bother me as much.

Thank you for your responses. It is an interesting topic. I have studied diet and how it relates to health for about 10 years. And the one truth I have found is that there is no one diet that is good for everyone. As far as fruit goes... my body does not appreciate alot of fruit. I do eat more fruit in the summer when its hot. But so far I think a diet of meat, dark-leafy greens, and berries suits me fine.

From what I understand, according to the book, blood types has evolved with time. All (if not most) hunters and early tribe peoples were of O blood type.

What do you think about the blood type diet? I have recently found out that I am an O blood type. I found this out right after starting the raw paleo diet, after being vegetarian for 15 years.

Do you know if you can do this (oil pulling) if you have fillings?

Thanks Goodsmaritan,
I was not sure if it would matter if I used either refined or unrefined. The oil pulling website said to use refined, I am not sure why.

Anyone with experience with oil pulling? I am confused about what type of oil to use. I am planning on Sesame oil, but refined or unrefined?

Blessed!

Haida when you mention "farm fresh eggs" do you mean from your own farm, or the commercial variety in the US sold as "farm fresh eggs"?. I have noticed in some US supermarket chains that there are egg packages labeled "farm fresh eggs" and the eggs look really dirty with mud and feathers on.. Interestingly, I haven't seen these at Whole Foods or other coops who sell certified organic eggs (those always look identical to one another).

Farm Fresh Eggs I get from a local farmer.

Luckily our farm fresh eggs tend to be mostly fertilized.

So RawZi, did you have milk intolerance. Do you drink raw milk now?

I try not to take to heart the comments my MIL says about my diet. She said that feeding my 3yr old raw eggs will give my daughter high cholesterol. I thought this was a funny comment, but I dont know the facts, does anyone here know? She said I should remove the little white piece on the yolk before eating it.

Thanks

General Discussion / Re: Raw Meat Digestion Question
« on: April 10, 2009, 10:42:16 am »

Thanks for all your input. Yesterday I gave myself freedom to eat what i feel like; I tend to over-think. From now I will give myself freedom to not over-analyze. I should put that in a positive statement though....ah...I give myself the freedom to act on instinct. That should work. I am learning to de-program myself. Act on instincts. Ha, tonight while preparing for dinner I decided to go without the cutlery. Just hands and mouth. That was instincts, it felt good.

What I really wanted to know is how long after eating a mono meat meal do you wait before eating fruits or vegetables?

speaking of fertilized eggs, do you all prefer eating fertilized eggs? I have heard that they are more nutritious.

I have heard that cooked meat takes up to 24hours to fully digest. Does anyone here know the estimeted digestion time for raw meat? Also how long do you usually wait after eating a meat meal to eat veggies or fruit?

Hello,
My hubby and 33month old daughter are new around here. We have been mostly raw vegans for a few years now and looking to try raw omnivore. A recent trip to the dentist show my daughter to have decalcification of teeth, and a recommendation for animal protein. Is there anyone out there with little ones who eats raw meat/eggs, Im not sure how or if to do this.

Happy to be here!
Haida
