Yes, I know, they have   been predicting since the 1980s that travel to Mars/the technological singularity/solar power/fusion power/ etc. etc.were "only"  c.30 years away   ;) ;D l) :P -[   , but these  "predictions"  inevitably never happen. I am inevitably more and more inclined to believe in Huebner's saner theory, that we are entering a new Dark Age; and possibly a series of Great Filter events that will annihilate us, just like all previous sentient species.


I am referring to the NASA idiot who claimed that water on Mars meant immediate colonisation within decades.

We'll never need to colonize Mars. The human birth and death rates will drop to zero within 60-70 years or less.
