Or maybe they're back because it's a way for the body to eliminate particular toxins, and it goes in cycles that can remain dormant for several generations. Of course they'll come up with a vaccine by the time it's about over, and then claim credit for eradicating it. And then blame anti vaxxers when it inevitably comes back.
