The statistics above seem to somewhat overly low, especially for UK statistics. This is likely to be more accurate:-

With modern technology ever-advancing, and the pro-life lobby gaining power here and there in Islamic countries/US etc., we can expect ever-higher rates of premature births in the world population as time goes by.Then again, this phenomenon might well eventually lead to a drop in the vast human population worldwide, in the end, so may be a hidden blessing:-

Note how, in the 1st article, that choosing the unhealthy vegan diet, leads to higher chances of premature birth. Also, studies like this one indicate that advanced glycation end products, toxins created by cooking, are implicated in the rate of premature births, suggesting that cooked diets in general lead to a rise in premature births:-
