RVAFers and Palaeos often talk about the good old days of the Palaeolithic era, but sometimes forget that it was a harsh life. The above article demonstrates this point. Admittedly, such harsh puberty initation rites were necessary in order for people to feel they belonged to the tribe and to make them feel, via such great effort, that they were part of a worthy organisation worth being loyal to. More recent rituals in more modern times included Confirmation within the Catholic Church etc.
