Must be great opportunities for RVAFers in China. Tourists visiting China told me how street vendors would routinely sell far greater varieties of foods  than one would find in the west, such as grasshoppers, locusts etc.

I have no problem with eating live animals, as long as the death is quick. The practice is so very palaeo... The whole point of being human is that, in order to be fully natural/palaeo, one has to embrace all aspects of human nature, even the violent side of it sometimes. If one doesn't, such as what usually happens in modern times, one just ends up a malfunctioning quasi-human.
