Title: fluorescent bananas
Post by: dair on May 20, 2018, 07:55:05 pm
To those who eat/have eaten unripe fruits. UV sensitive animals can pick the ripe bananas:

I never eat bananas in Europe, they taste boring after haven tried so many different kinds in Asia, and quite often with some seed(s) in them. Local super ripe bananas are amazing.

That's all very well, but most of us live in countries focused around intensive farming of just 1 or 2 different varieties of specific fruits. We can't all live in rawpalaeo-like-luxury like those of us in SE Asia etc. I have tried locating exotic varieties of raw fruit in London(Chinatown etc.) and some supermarkets focusing on ethnic cuisine in Vienna, Austria. The Chinatown fruits, such as dragon fruit, all tasted very bland and unappetising, and the Austrian ethnic supermarkets all focused on highly processed foods, with only a few  tasteless vegetables avilable. If anyone exported pink bananas etc. to Europe, they would make a killing.Other than that, the LFM markets in London offered medlars, but that was about it.
