Title: oil pulling
Post by: Haida on June 07, 2009, 04:19:25 pm
Anyone with experience with oil pulling? I am confused about what type of oil to use. I am planning on Sesame oil, but refined or unrefined?
Blessed!

Hi there. I didn't know what you meant so had a look at a website. It said if you swish oil in your mouth it will cause you to produce enzymes.
If you're following a raw paleo diet, perhaps eating fat e.g. suet on it's own will have the same effect, if this is indeed happening as they describe.

I've substituted oil pulling for tooth brushing. I oil pull every morning for 20 minutes. I use virgin coconut oil.

Thanks Goodsmaritan, I was not sure if it would matter if I used either refined or unrefined. The oil pulling website said to use refined, I am not sure why.

I followed the advice of Bruce Fife in his oil pulling book. He of course recommends virgin coconut oil.

Do you know if you can do this (oil pulling) if you have fillings?

I understand your concern. I had my mercury fillings changed to the new kinds a few years ago. If you haven't changed your mercury fillings, you may want to see a biological dentist. Check with Bruce Fife's book or check out the Oil Pulling forum on Curezone.com
