"The Batak of the Philippines reveal the devastation caused to their land by illegal loggers and resin-tapping." --Survival International

GoodSamaritan, do you know anything about these unfortunate people whose land is being invaded by lawbreakers and their food stolen?

Sounds bad.  Illegal loggers.

There are tons of NGOs operating in Palawan protecting that island as it is one of the last virgin territories in the Philippines.

I can understand their language, they speak the common Tagalog language.
They probably live in the deep forests, malaria infested, that is why most tribes in Palawan have their numbers limited.
My wife would know something about these Batak people, she works with Shell's natural gas project around those parts.
We get our fertilized duck eggs from a sleepy Palawan town.

I'm wondering why this is a hot topic.
