Post by: spear of destiny on January 11, 2010, 06:03:59 pm
Hi, anybody here got experience with eating raw meat without appendix attached?

Mine got removed and i heard it might help in digesting raw meat...so anyone who had the same and eat a lot of raw meat?

Did you try eating meat and had problems?

I heard, from someone who had it removed, that appendix has kind of lost it's function. I he didn't switch to vegetarianism because of that.

I'd always heard that the appendix was supposed to be a vestigial organ meant for digesting plant-foods, specifically cellulose, I think.

On the other hand, I've also read from other sources that, contrary to previous theories, the appendix is by no means vestigial and serves an important function as regards the immune-system.

My appendix was removed about 15 years ago and I seem to be doing OK on raw meat.

I think you probably need raw meat more if you no longer have an appendix.  I have had appendix inflammation before, but never with raw meat.  Raw meat is not inflaming.  Raw meat gives exactly the food your body needs to become whole.

I believe I read somewhere that the current theory is that the appendix serves the function of repopulating the gut with the good bacteria when they are lost.

My appendix seems to have started to enflame since I started eating more raw meat. I am thinking perhaps I have poo cake around appendix, and when appendix got reactivated when I start eating raw meat it get blocked by cake and is now swollen.
