I love reading about and talking to hunter-gatherers.  I've hung out with some of the Guaymi in Costa Rica. They do farm rice, but they also hunt and gather as well.  It's eye-opening, to say the least.

Not necessarily so - I think that paleoman was diverse - note the squared and carven stones at Gobekli Tepe, erected 10,000 years ago.
