How come it says that their meat is preferably frozen?

Maybe it's cause it's Siberia and they are tough people whose houses are somewhat frozen?  To not have frozen meat they might have to eat it live or warm or salt it.

The very first time I tried semi-frozen beef I preferred it to thawed. I also prefered air-dried/aged beef to fresh thawed when I first tried it. According to what I've read, the Nenets eat frozen meat both because it's sensible in the Arctic and because they prefer it that way. Plus, if you've run out of fuel or you're out on the tundra during the Arctic winter and don't/can't wait to get back to shelter and fuel, it's the only way to eat it (unless you have fire starter tools and cooker, build a snow shelter and use some of the fat of the animal you hunted to cook it--but why go to that bother--and why waste good fat?).

It isn't healthier frozen. It's just eaten that way for convenience.

Try eating some meat before it's fully thawed, like I did. You may find you like it, or you may not. It's kind of like a meatsicle. I also like to chew ice and walk outdoors for short distances in the winter without my coat on (both of which I find stimulating and invigorating) and I sometimes combine the two. If you don't like chewing ice or cold showers you may not like frozen meat.
