Title: New member: Western Australia
Post by: Atu on February 28, 2010, 09:23:59 pm
Hi all,
I am very happy to meet you all.
For those of you half way up the swimming pool, if you look over your shoulder you'll see me standing on the starting block. I have just stopped eating grains and feel very alert but relaxed, it's great. This 'Paleo' is making so much sense. I will read your posts with great care, I hope to expand diet into philosophy and lifestyle and help others I know, so I hope to learn from your knowledge and experience.
A big hello to you all.
With many thanks
Atu

I'm with you at the starting blocks, but there are some very knowledgeable posters here. Welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard Atu. This lifestyle is simple though not simplistic. Keep this in mind as you venture forth on your journey. Our true dietary needs are few. Meat and fat from herbivores, and water - that's it. The rest is window dressing.
Your biggest challenge will be changing how you think about food, and the point of this forum is to help you through this process. You will find many approaches and you'll be tempted by all of them as Eve tempted Adam with the apple. Your job will be to find for yourself the few nuggets of truth buried in the piles of clutter and nonsense.
I wish you Godspeed,
Lex

Meat and fat from carnivores isn't dangarous, though it's, supposedely, less nutritious and tasty. Wild carnivores resort to eating some other carnivores only when there is to little herbivores to eat.

Not only that but I heard that carnivorous meat is very stringy and tough.

Inevitable. The further up the food-chain one goes, and the further away one goes from the ultimate source of energy, the Sun, the less nutrition one would likely get, IMO.

Useful wise advice from the most experienced with zero carb: http://activenocarber.myfreeforum.org/about22.html
YMMV, as he was not trying to heal anything.
