There's been 1 or 2 studies directly implicating grains-consumption in childhood with poorer eyesight, particularly consumption of bread.
No wonder! I used to avoid grains as much as I could during childhood, and I had the sharpest eyesight of anyone I knew for everything including very far or very tiny close. I think from my experience that whole animal foods are great for eyes. I'm hoping liver, yolk, salmon etc will repair my years of grain.
I would like to see the studies. Maybe it would get my guy off grain.

Here's some mention of them:-

Googling under "pubmed" etc. should find the exact study.

I don't know about diet but if you have been wearing glasses for a long time your eye muscles will be very very weak and diet will not help you there. For more information about this maybe check out http://www.i-see.org/bershak.html

My vision improved slightly when I eliminated gluten, especially my night vision. I still need corrective lenses, though.

Hey everyone. Your lens muscles and the rest of your eye parts and body needs (the right) foods. Don't let yourself starve (of the right foods).
I seriously doubt that diet can alter the shape of the lens once it's been altered and adulthood is reached. I'm also not as trusting in the Bates Method as I once was, since I didn't succeed on it(but then I wasn't doing it properly, anyway at the time).

Where did you hear it? Did you hear how long the improvement lasts? How long and under what conditions and how slowly/quickly does it change back according to what you heard from them? How long of a water fast did you hear for it? Did you hear it works in every case the same?

The only caveat of this method is that one has to do it thoroughly for a long period of time. What I do regularly is palming and sun treatment and I find them very good, beneficial.

Improving my eyesight It was several months later, during a 14 day water-only fast, when I finally took time to read Tom's book. I was living in Costa Rica at that time, a country well known for its natural beauty. To my amazement and delight this natural beauty increased as my eyesight improved by following the suggestions outlined in Relearning to See. The abundant flowers became even more colorful than before, and my clarity improved to 20/20. This happened within just two weeks. This method seemed to work! And it really didn't involve any eye-exercises. Wow. Not only could I maintain my visual acuity, but I was actually able to improve it! I was thrilled with my renewed vision.
