Title: "Into the Wild" SPOILER!!
Post by: boxcarguy07 on July 28, 2008, 10:53:48 am
Anyone else seen this movie?
I just finished watching it and it is the best movie I've ever seen. Ever.
I highly recommend it.

I've got the movie but haven't got round to watching it yet, everyones raved about how good it is.

It can't be anything like the book because that was the most depressing thing I've ever read!

Hey

Watched it and really enjoyed it, great soundtrack and cinematography, in the book he was seemed depressed/disturbed/irrational.

The lesson I learnt was, DON'T eat your veges!

The Mcandless story has been discussed for years, with documentries articles etc can a non-fiction story be spoiled.

Ya someone should have told him that nothing was wrong with the meat...

I mean the wolves were eating it right? What a shame, another victim of the cooked food cultural ignorance, and quite a dramatic victim at that.

oh yeah, I remember thinking that at that point, that he should have still eaten it.

He writes in his diary "should have never killed that moose... one of the biggest tragedies of my life"
first of all, wow, yes very dramatic... and other living creatures got a meal out of it, so its death wasn't in vain.

Speaking of which, I want to make sure that when I die my body is eaten and makes its way back into the earth... please no coffin.

The guy was losing it and scrawled alot of stuff in his diary. The movie makes out that he died from eating poisonous plants but it was most likely from starvation (according to the book?)

I really like that eddie vedder song at the start.

According to the movie (and my friend read the book and I think this is how she sees it) the plant he ate inhibits digestion and causes paralysis and although he survived the immediate effects he was too weak to get food and anything he ate was probably not digested because that plant was probably in his system still. If you eat a plant that inhibits digestion I would imagine the plant itself would stick around for a while.
