Title: wooden cutting board concern

I'm about to buy a cutting board. I'm not very fond of plastic, so I'll get a wooden board. I was wondering though how safe it is, since the wood might be chemically treated. Do you guys know anything about it?  Thanks in advance.

    Buy a slab of untreated wood, not a cutting board.  Make sure it's one piece, not several glued together.  Treat it yourself, with olive oil.

I've never used anything but wooden cutting boards.

I don't think they have any chemicals except the glue; pour boiling water on it and scrub well before first use. Clean by scraping with a knife.

I've never seen solid untreated wood sold for that use.
