Title: How do you season your beef?
Post by: kurite on May 11, 2010, 10:57:27 am
Hi for those of you who do season their beef, what do you use? I use garlic and onion powder.

Also at one point I used black pepper for about 3 days but felt the meat digested oddly. I can't really explain the feeling. Does anyone know why this might be?

For some people, black pepper is an irritant.

Like most long-term rawpalaeos I generally no longer season my raw meats. There was a very recent exception where I did  an experiment or 2 with adding black pepper and the like, but all it showed was that adding spices, however raw, gets me to eat far more than I need to - the natural "stop" I get re hunger when eating raw, unseasoned meats doesn't happen when I add in spices.

In my 1st year of going rawpalaeo I did add some raw spices such as salt, black pepper, raw garlic bulbs, raw onion and cayenne pepper.

I have eaten a nice raw steak with barbeque sauce, but normally I eat my beef plain.  Honey and marrow are good with it.

Recently I had some mustard with my lamb. I took the seeds and ground then, then just mixed them with apple cider vinegar. One could add honey, but I ran out of it.
