I suppose this is slightly relevant to this forum, for the reasons I'd be doing it, but besides that I don't think I have anywhere/one else better to ask anyway.
If going to other countries, how can one take tools such as spears, bows, arrows, knives, axes, machetes etc? Can they at all?

Well, it's illegal to use a bow to hunt in this country for example. I wouldn't want to buy one, and then find I can't take it on the plane >.> I am watching some bows on ebay right now, and I missed one which was a really good deal already because I came up with this question. I'm thinking as well I'd rather go for a longbow than a modern recurve or compound bow. Then again, I'm not even 100% sure if I want to buy a bow at all, as opposed to starting off making spears/traps and making a bow at some point.

Call the Airport Police/Secuirty/Legal Office of your local area and check their book/website also to double check, then do the same with the target destination to avoid any legal problems, laws can vary significantly from country/city/state.
