paleo (from cooked) with social anxiety disorder.

Did moving from cooked to raw make much of a difference with your SAD?

lol SAD usually stands for Standard American Diet here.

I don't have social anxiety disorder as far as i know, but I've always been introverted and shy and such, though eating raw has made me feel so good that I've gained confidence and I'm not quite so shy anymore.  Don't know if that would help with the actual condition though?

I think a few of us here have found great benefit on long-term RPD diets in psychological and cognitive function as well as the expected physical improvements.

Personally, I've had lifelong difficulties with many of the symptoms of Social Anxiety Disorder but nowhere near extreme enough to qualify as suffering from the disorder.  I've been eating this way for 10 years now so it's difficult to quantify which areas have improved due to dietary changes and which are due to other factors.

To be honest, I think it would be wrong to suggest to you that following a RPD diet is going to cure such a disorder.  SAD has primarily psychological roots which will require psychological aid.  But, we are whole beings and there will be many contributing factors involved.  I would expect RPD to help reduce symptoms even if only as a consequence of improvements in biological function.

I'm with Yon Yonson here right now and he has shared with me some loneliness he feels being the only raw paleo dieter in his house hold.  Probably it's because he's still young?

How old are you?

I'm 40 and used to be really sick so I as hell care only about my health.

I eat my meals at the same time as the rest of my family and extended family and after the adjustment of their wincing at my raw meat, they've gotten used to it.  Plus they see raw animal foods heal people.  My wife recently was diagnosed with b12 deficiency and we've been serving live clams, live oysters and raw liver and raw bone marrow everyday in the dinner table for everyone to see.

A rawpalaeodiet helped me considerably re improvement in things like mood/energy-levels(especially when I started to consume "high-meat").So some(though certainly not all) of the symptoms related to social anxiety disorder can be cured with a rawpalaeodiet.

As regards anxiety-related conditions, it would be wise to go in for dr ron's adrenal and thyroid supplements, or even better, buy raw adrenals/thyroids direct from farms, if you can.

Cool guys!  Is this the first face-to-face meeting between members?  It would be great to actually get together with some of you guys.  Is that Italy thing still a future possibility Tyler?

Yes, it is pretty cool to get together. Yon was with his cousin, they're so young, I feel like Daddy.  I played amateur tour guide and we drove around.  Even played healer, Yon got into a little trouble tasting this and that (cooked food) on his trip.

Well, to be honest, I think a far more successful meeting would be one held in the States as that is where the majority of RVAFers/rawpalaeos reside(maybe Los Angeles area?). I've had a few, current problems re my villa in Italy as it's time-shared between relatives and I have some very grasping/greedy relatives who constantly try to invade during my allotted time. Plus, I have a brother who likes to routinely invite 12-20 friends along when he's there, which would complicate matters(there are only 16 or 17 beds available, many of them double-beds).
