Title: Question for Goodsamaritan - re Bitter Melon Fruit
Post by: technosmith on October 17, 2010, 11:08:31 pm
Hi Goodsamaritan,

I have bought some Bitter Melon fruit (Karela) from a local Indian supermarket. Have no idea of the freshness, where its from, or how long it has been sitting on the shelf. Is this an issue?

Anyway, what is the best way to eat it?

Do you eat the outer pimply skin part (Surely not)? Do you peal it? Or do you just wash it, and then eat everything?

Do you eat the seeds and the white middle portion?

Or is it the harder green inner layer you eat, having peeled off the outer layer?

Do you eat it with carbs to improve glucose tolerance, or can it be eaten at any time to help with this?

Cheers for the tips.

Phil

Hey,

I have watched the video, but I would still like the questions I mention above to be answered if possible.

Thanks,
