I have been zero carb for my first week jsut now. i was out of fat and hungry, and thought why not try some celery again. i felt stomach pains 30min after and had a BM which did not feel right somehow, like it should not have happened. I a just curious how others that are ZC here have responded to carbs/fiber after being zc

Same thing. A week into ZC I had some sauteed swiss chard. Stomach pains. Haven't eaten vegetables since. O0

It's normal to get stomach-aches and poor digestion after eating any carbs after going RZC. I had that too when I was doing VLC for ages(I am surprised it happened so quickly for you lot, though). Basically, you need certain types of bacteria in order to properly digest carbs, and when you eat no carbs or hardly any carbs at all, those bacteria die off and you then get poor digestion and stomach-aches. Also, I think RZC makes the body change enzyme-production over time, or some such, making digestion more difficult.

Fiber is good when it comes from the fruits, esp. wild berries. http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/nutrition/fiber-its-natures-broom.html

I agree, Fruit fiber is much better than veggie fiber. I don't eat whole veggies unless they are fermented. I just started eating fruit again with no problems.

Everyone has got different tolerance towards fruits and fiber. I can eat, for example, 1 kg of apples witout any problems, but someone else might eat only 0,5 kg. The same applies to fiber. So we've got to "calibrate" the beneficial amounts for us.

I did notice that the fiber in the one fruit I really can eat, avocado, gives me no problems. The fiber in tougher leafy vegetables like kale bother me. In the past I needed to cook them to make them digestible.

With my past incident a few months ago, I vowed to not be so tummy sensitive. I theorized there must be something wrong if my tummy is too sensitive. So I bulked up on tons of different probiotics, then stopped taking them. I'm now experimenting tasting various non-paleo food to see if I get the usual non paleo tummy ache. And surprise surprise, no tummy ache so far. Had some non paleo stuff this christmas and my tummy is solid as a rock.
I believe we humans as opportunists should have various bacteria, solid guts so we can survive on anything when need be.
It would be a shame if the supply of animal foods dried up and we just died outright of starvation.

I believe we should all eat raw food for maximum health but we should not die or go into sickness when eating some cooked food (at least the healthier ones), because I agree humans should remain to develop their varieried eating abilities, something tells me it is useful for survival heh heh ;D
