Title: Raw paleo a sustainable choice?
Post by: raw-al on December 23, 2010, 04:13:37 am
If the whole world decided tomorrow to eat only raw meat raised in an organic grassfed or wild manner there would be serious issues re: supply. (I arrived at this by a guess.)
Naturally there would be a period of time to reorganize food supply chains. So what are the thoughts on the overall results?
Consumption of fuel would be less (no cooking) Volume of food consumed would be less (cooking reduces food volume) Volume of food consumed would be less due to a more nutritious food being used Businesses depending on modifying foods and packaging would go belly up

Forests would grow larger in the 3rd world as wood used for primitive cooking fires would no longer be needed.
As such, if the whole world went in for hydroponically-grown raw plant foods(if the technology improved considerably) and also went in for lots of consumption of raw insects en masse, it would be sustainable.

Yah I really think the key to the whole world actually going paleo would be massive increase in eating insects, they are supposedly about 80% more efficient (as far as calories go) than beef. Of course that percentage is compared to grain fed meat.

I bet there are some tasty insects out there... :P
Anyone have experience? Which bugs are your favorite?

Only young secada and it was in a brownie. Didn't have much taste because brownie was overpowering it but didn't have a negative taste. I heard ants are really tasty because they are sour due to some acid they produce.

I never really thought of eating ants due to their size, you would have to eat a bowl full to get a good meal. They probably taste good, the children at the daycare I work with eat them all the time.

Some species of ants are very large, I find it funny that kids will naturally eat insects. Instincts at work I guess.

There will be a massive human die off before this happens. All sorts of "diseases" will kill off people and cause people to be infertile. The only ones left standing will be people like us who know what it takes to be healthy and to thrive.
Just look around you just how horrid most people's diets are. Humans today are at the heights of insanity. Young people growing up knowing nothing but processed food and fast food. Look at the teenager here in this forum never ate a grape with seeds! Look at most of us, grew up not eating raw meat.
The human race has gone insane.

Hey goodsamaritan, I totally agree. Check out this article "the zardos effect" written by William Wong, ND. This guy is great, he references a doc who thinks that by 2045 only 20% of males will be fertile. He also says Japan has over 100000 in vitro fertilizations a year.
Hey guys, I just wrote a report on the epidemic of infecundity. Here it is if you want to read it: I got an A on it and my professor is using it as a reference as what a good report should be. Let me know if I have to convert anything as I did this on a mac
My report is on the link below

It may be turbulent, but I welcome the day. I only hope that enough of the humans evolve so we don't have to completely start from scratch.

This post is written by a test tube baby! Is that not the most bizarre thing one could imagine? :o I am one generation out of sexual conception! (WTF?! So weird!) ??? .. but that could be the topic of a whole other thread I am sure

Nice report. You might want to look at the depopulation campaign and contraceptive / abortive brainwashing angles.
Men from higher income places find mutual benefit in subcontracting / partnering with women in low income places whether it is provincial or in some other country... it works, win win.
Back to is raw paleo a sustainable choice?
Probably not for the current civilization and any change can't be done overnight. It's a nice mental exercise though. I wouldn't worry about it though. We can shout to the ends of the earth and people will not convert to raw paleo. It's all about taste / flavor and what they can afford for most people.
I would have thought in the 1980s, the Japanese would take over the world, then we'd all be sashimi eaters. But the Japanese didn't take over the world.... their baby manufacturing machinery went kaput.

japanese in the 80s?? what was so special about japanese during 80s? they had industrial boom, that's all. usually industrial boom results in reduction of birth rate when a country moves to the 1st world status.
