Title: Omega-3 content of bone marrow?
Post by: Techydude on December 26, 2010, 02:04:14 am
Now I heard bone marrow is mainly composed of monounsaturated fatty acids but what about omega-3s in the marrow?

There's a small amount of omega-3 in marrow, but much more in brain.

Take a look at:

Interesting. Is it hard to get ruminant brains? I guess I could ask my local ranchers, but I don't know if they would sell it to me. Even though BSE risk is nonexistent with grass finished ruminants, there still seems to be a taboo surrounding it.

Hmm... Maybe they would sell it and just tell me I'm weird. Who knows? -\

Check with your local halal butcher. Mine routinely sells me lamb brains. I also find calf brains from time to time at my local chain supermarket.
