Title: Steroid spray before nose operation - alternatives

I broke my nose and have to go into hospital next week to get it reset. In the meantime I have been prescribed a steroid spray Avamis (Fluticasone) to inhale.

It doesn't sit well with me, as it has side affects on the hormone balance in the body.

However it's an unnatural situation, as they want the swelling to go down fast from the original break so they can re-break it and put it in position.

Thoughts/Experiences?

Any natural remedies that are believed to make inflammation go down?

Inflammation is a healing process.

You are just feeding your body materials that will help hasten the healing process.

Eat a lot of high in omega 3 fats meats such as raw blue marlin sashimi.
Eat zinc loaded food like raw oysters.

Thanks GS. I agree, however the problem is I can't just allow nature to take it's course as I need the swelling down for the operation, which has to be done quickly.

I think I will accept the spray, but will try your suggestions as well.

don't take any of this crap..
As a kid I used to fight alot I broke my nose 2 times nothing serious that requires operation barely noticed.
Both of the times I had to wait 1/2 weaks till it get fixed BY IT SELF!!
Just feel that weird feel of your inflamed area and try to enjoy it

yes it has fixed itself, but unfortunately it's twisted right round so it needs putting back.

lol. I don't mind looking more like a bruiser, but right now it's a bit weird trust me
