But 100 push-ups a day? That's really nothing. Or did you mean 1000?
Löwenherz
100 in a day isn't hard but sticking to a routine wherein you do average 100 every day all month long isn't as easy for many. ;)
I'm in SD. Going to start back up on a bi-weekly routine next week. If I stay on par with the last routine I'll easily meet it. :)

When you say that you do 100 push-ups a day, do you mean all at once? Or spread out? If you're allowed to spread it out (33 in morning, 33 in afternoon, 33 in evening for example), then it's quite easy. But doing 100 in a row without pausing is not so easy...

I think that's up to the individual. If you're doing 100 at a clip though you're probably going to do a couple sets of those and hit a few hundred for the day.
I follow a modified version of this (http://forums.menshealth.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/855109121/m/612106525). I did it over a month and a half in the fall and had great results with it. I'm going to begin cycling one week on, following the second week routine, then one week off (I've been lax the past few months over the winter). Once I get into that cycle I think I'm going to add free weights & chin/pull-ups 2-3 days over the "off" week. Should be a good split between vascular growth and muscle growth.

OK, I started today. ;-)
50 in the morning, 50 at noon and 50 in the evening.
Aeh, from 60-70 upwards it becomes a little, very tough.

well I really assumed I was going to get all 100 in one shot. I havn't been feeling 100%, which is why i've skipped on the gym last few days anyway, but I only banged in around 60 without completely exhausting myself to then complete the rest in a quick fashion. I guess it just shows particular exercises have their own demands, no matter if certain muscles get stronger (from weighted exercise etc..). I stopped doing long sets of push-ups earlier in the summer. Either that or I'm turning into a fat ass that can't press up my weight so many times.
100 push-ups isn't much of a rigorous workout, but the dedication to do that many over time is pretty impressive I'd say. For a challenge, just do them every three days. Do something else on other days and keep the same end goal.

Not really healthy to do a 100 pushups per day. Especially if your muscles aren't used to this amount of concentrated stress.
It's probably fine for skinnydevil... he's in great shape and does a lot of high rep exercise. For most others, it's too much. You'll need more time to recover otherwise I guarantee you will injure your self. Also you will gain more results if you rest.

If you are bored with pushups and need a bigger challenge then checkout this program. I did it for years when I was younger then gave it up because the exercise lacked variety and the same muscles started bothering me.
When you progress through the charts and make it to the 4th, 5th, and 6th chart, the pushups get more challenging.

Basically you progress through the charts according to your age and stop at the level according to your age. I just continued on.
