Title: Raw Meat Safety Info
Post by: Fermenter Zym on February 10, 2011, 11:42:31 pm
Hello all,
Can you please provide me with some information (links, studies, anecdotes, ethnographic reports) about the safety of eating raw meat? I recently started eating RP and my girlfriend is concerned I am going to get e.coli from eating grass-fed ground meat raw.

I had a few additional questions about bacteria safety:
Is there beneficial bacteria in raw meat that overwhelm the pathogenic bacteria as in breast in milk? Do these healthy bacteria get killed when cooked, sometimes leaving only the harmful ones? How do you explain the American deaths of e.coli poisoning from meats? (Because it's grain fed, factory farmed raised, and improperly butchered?)

E-coli is extremely negligible in grass fed meat. You would have to have no immune system to have issues.

You just answered your own question.
