Post by: Coatue on February 23, 2011, 02:11:59 am
Anybody ever experience crunchy like bits or coming across crystal like objects when eating raw liver?

I think they are vessels of some sort. Not sure.

When I let kidney ferment, it seems to get crystals of salt in it.  Just looked it up now, to see if there's any sodium in it:
Quote
Minerals Nutrition in Beef Kidney

Calcium (Ca) content (mg per 100g) 13
Iron (Fe) content (mg per 100g) 4.6
Magnesium (Mg) content (mg per 100g) 17
Phosphorus (P) content (mg per 100g) 257
Potassium (K) content (mg per 100g) 262
Sodium (Na) content (mg per 100g) 182

I haven't eaten organs lately, or much at all.  I think I found things in pancreas, don't recall right now.  What do the crunchy bits you find taste like?

Nothing really, its just kinda gross and freaky and I would like to know if its a sign of a "sick" liver

Once I obtained a liver with sand on it. It was more crunchy than usual.

I would think of crunchy bits as dirt, as in toxins stored in the liver.
Remember that liver is a filter.
So I don't eat those.
