Title: Just moved to a new server - Mar 06, 2011 - Post bugs here.

I just had to move rawpaleoforum.com to a new server.
It was getting pretty crowded in the old shared server.
Our database is getting pretty big too.
At 700 mb, I'm not too happy with the backup arrangements at the old shared server.

This is not yet the optimal configuration of the new rawpaleoforum.com server, this is just in transition to something more optimal.
It looks like our little forum is growing, big and it will be bigger.
We are getting to be popular.
More than most people think.

Hope to finish optimizing our configuration within 1 week.

Please post any complaints, observations, bugs, irregularities here.

Yesterday and earlier this morning, I was unable to access rawpaleoforum - either it didn't work at all, or it was so slow moving to the next thread, that it was ridiculous. Things are better now, though.

I just complained to the data center about the "cannot allocate memory" problem of this hosting service.
They said they fixed it just now.

I'll attend to the cannot upload avatar problem.

Just checking the favicon.ico thing.  There is an error message in the logs without a favicon.ico

How about nominating a favicon of your choosing?

I made adjustments to the mysql database server.
Hope it writes much faster.

I don't think it does.

Yeah,  I blasted the data center for slowness this morning.
Seems they've corrected it.
But I have another VPS standing by from another data center if this happens again.

Annoying VPS down time!

I think the main server crashed so the VPS came down with it.  It's fixed now.
