For example:

Big Saba Bananas cost: 10 pesos for 3 pieces in Marikina Market

Durians: 120 pesos / kilo whole in Tiendesitas

Rambutan in season: 50 to 60 pesos / kilo in Marikina Market

I don't see the relevance of this topic, as everyone will have to use currency converters, plus every food-item will have a widely different price depending on the person's location, climate etc. etc. Still, I'll give a vague answer:-

organic blueberies=£1.50 to £1.99 for 150-250g(?)
organic raspberries= £2.49 per 150-250g.(?)

Geoff,

This will be fun... and informative.  Like Aajonus says, true human food is expensive.  And it would be nice to know what each one of us shops (hunts) for.  Who knows, any of us could get into the food business if we knew the differences in pricing.

For me, blueberries and raspberries are exotic fruits I have never tasted fresh and ripe.  I do remember blueberry pancakes from a box.

Back on topic:

Young coconuts for meat and water: 13 pesos per piece when I buy in bulk 20s at a time in the Marikina Market, elsewhere it is 16 to 18 pesos.  From the coconut vendor who pushes his cart it is 20 pesos per coconut.

Mature Coconut "Niyog" for making coconut milk: 15 to 18 pesos per piece.

Papaya: 30 to 35 pesos per kilo

Avocado: 60 to 80 pesos per kilo

Organic is darn exspensive. The farmer markets are cheap, but even most of them spray everything.

No organic fruit available locally, AFAIK.
I buy wild blueberries for ~$15/litre, the baskets look like a bit more than a litre. I freeze them for the winter, can't dry them as the dryer is full of meat.

Organic fruit in Western Australia is so expensive and it's really hard to get hold of.
