Title: 2 week milk
Post by: svrn on January 19, 2012, 02:22:21 pm
I've had some milk in a glass jar in the fridge for about 2 weeks now and it seems to have gone sour. Is it still alright to drink it?

If it is raw milk, it is OK.  I have read somewhere that soured raw milk is even better nutritionally than sweet milk.  I have been drinking raw milk for a long time. Raw milk is drinkable even after it has been in the fridge for weeks.

If you can stand the taste, yeah. I don't think raw milk technically ever goes bad.

Yeah it's ok to drink. It's wrong people who say 'it can't go bad' though. It can go bad. If you get something growing in it that looks separate from the milk, like a brown scum, then it's gone bad. However, if raw milk is just aged and goes sour there's nothing wrong with that.

I drink milk that has been sitting at room temperature for months.  I never have a problem.

WAP people say it lasts two weeks in the fridge. I say it tastes disgusting then, maybe throw it in the bath? Now, two weeks out of the fridge, that's some yummy stuff :P
