Title: Google caches question
Post by: TylerDurden on March 17, 2012, 03:59:50 am
I have just noticed that there are no longer any cache-links below each searched link on google. I am in despair as I have used this google cache option endlessly in order to find certain words/phrases in very large documents on raw diets. Without this option, I might as well give up on researching many studies and articles as it would waste a hell of a lot more of my time. I gather vaguely that google may have recently changed things. Is there any way I can get back those cached results with each searched link, go back to the old settings? I am desperate.

I am not a Google expert by any stretch but try this;
I use Google Chrome for a search engine first of all. Because I find it better.
When you want to search for something, do your search item then when on the Google page after you have entered, go to the large red search button line where it says in grey "about (how ever many results) (0.19 seconds)" and go over to the end of the line where it shows "a head and shoulders", then a "small globe" and "then a gear" (circle with bumps) Click on that. A drop down menu will show up with the following choices "Search settings", "Advanced search", "web history", "search help"
Look under 'advanced search' or 'search settings'
OR
Click on your 'account settings' top right 'head and shoulders diagram' and look under 'account settings' then go to the bottom where it says "looking for older account options and your google products"
Try that Tyler.

It's still there, just hover to the right and an arrow will pop up with a preview of the page and 'cache' is at the top.
