composting more than table scraps is not realistic for many.  i have enough problems with raccoons visiting my garbage cans.  i keep a cement block on the lids.  so they just come by and move to next neighbor.  imagine if i add a container full of fish scraps.

i compost plant matter, mostly leaves and cut grass.

You might consider reading the article as he has the simple solution (PI) for that.

i would consider it if food composting was my hobby.  it's just it is not.

one of the main reasons i'm composting cut grass and leaves is i don't want to pay to haul it away.

I'm a composting fool. Very little goes in the trash. I used to compost paper but it is a lot of work and it doesn't break down easily unless you shred it.
