What exactly is the difference between IF and CR?

IF is intermittent fasting (or intermittent feeding, as it's used in the article TD linked to). This means allowing modest periods of time (up to a day or two) to pass between meals once in a while. CR is caloric restraint, which means deliberately and commonly eating a lower than normal caloric intake each day. They are both about reducing caloric intake, but differ in their frequency (IF is less common caloric reduction while CR or more common).

Furthermore, we show that intermittent feeding can lead to oxidative insulin receptor inactivation and glucose intolerance.

So can inactivity.
