Thanks Tyler, I've read of studies that determined that living near major roads has a negative effect on measures of intelligence in children. I go the impression that they were talking about the steady noise factor. But I guess it could be argued that this might be that the parents could not afford to live in nicer neighbourhoods and so were possibly not aware of the importance of education or proper nourishment etc.
Another big factor is the carbon monoxide factor. Once it is breathed in it takes a long time for the body to get rid of it as it binds so well with the blood.

I listened to the audiobook that is a mirror to the movie. It was/is a very big eye opener.
It doesn't surprise me at all. This is a full length show, but very worth watching if you would like a view of autism and I believe a lot of illnesses.
I particularly enjoyed the part where the mother (a psychology professor) argues against the theory that the increased diagnosis of autism nowadays is due to the criteria for diagnosing it having changed. She in essence says that is nonsense because there is not a commensurate decrease in diagnosis of other illnesses.
The audiobook is very good.

Err, unfortunately, studies have indeed shown a commensurate decrease in the diagnoses of other conditions.
