I believe Ayurvedic medicine mentions the effect of faster aging with salt.

Wonder what other factors could be at play.
Are overweight salt eaters aging faster because of the salt, or is it because of the highly processed junk foods that is loaded with salt, or is it a combination of many different factors?
Are they all eating highly refined salt or are they eating whole mineral salts?
I believe that salt isn't good for me personally, but perhaps for people who consume large amounts of refined carbohydrates, eating extra sodium may help offset some kind of mineral imbalance.
This could explain why salt goes so well with those snack chips, and other salty snack foods that are a favorite of many overweight people. The salt actually is needed to balance the minerals and replenish the bodies sodium that is depleted from the metabolism being run on such sub quality foods?

White sugar and white flour feed candida. Salt tends to kill candida. I imagine that's one of the reasons that people on high-refined-carb diets tend to eat a lot of salt. Not that they plan it that way, but that it does tend to reduce the problems of carb consumption a little, temporarily. Of course, salt tends to increase appetite, which makes you eat even MORE carbs, so it is sort of a downward spiral.
