With our ancestors specializing in those skills, I'm sure their spears were lethal.

But maybe not like bullets... come on, how far can you throw those things?

they hunted in packs, and could send animals back towards the other half of the hunting tribe.  They also ran down their prey.

It seems that the researchers used wooden spears and stone tips sharpened with modern equipment, and they used a high power crossbow to shoot them. That's not paleo.
