Title: New Hosting with Apache + Nginx + memcached
Post by: goodsamaritan on October 04, 2014, 01:31:31 pm: I'm trying out new technology, potentially faster and better than the old tech.
This latest hosting is using Apache + Nginx as reverse proxy.
We are still using a dedicated SSD mysql server.
I also installed memcached.
And activated caching in this SMF forum.
Let's see how well it performs.
Report any problems or bugs.

Upgraded the forum to the latest version SMF 2.0.9
And the OS of this forum was changed to 64 bit.

I wrote a rather long post and when trying to see the preview the page collapsed, and it said there was a problem connecting to the page. So I lost the text I spent more than an hour writing. It's not the first time either. If this is just my case then I guess I'll be wiser next time and save the stuff I write.

It's just that sometimes I need a little brake from the square screen, which after too much time spent on it gives me headaches and tired eyesight. Plus I had some work to do.

No, malgré the sometimes weird theories and occasional unnerving lengthy debates, I truly like the diversity of minds and ideas of the people on this forum. I mean, I've learned a lot of things from practically anyone that's ever posted here, and I do like to contribute to a better understanding and consciousness of things. Plus the fact that we're all pretty much united around a certain lifestyle is also a nice thing.
