Title: Kool Aid &Frozen Pizza
Post by: kalo on May 15, 2015, 05:52:16 am
I enjoy my good quality beef but until I get my butchering skills, I can't make high meat because I need Fresh meat. So I took my last two Garden of Life Men 50 & wiser probiotics this morning and I am wondering if ya'll have any probiotic suggestions, besides high meat which I'm sure will be superior. Are there probiotics more geared to carnivores?

Also I'm just about ALL raw meat, after reading some of Lex's journal, I know my body definitely still converts the protein to glucose, so I shouldn't really call myself zero carb. Anyway, what is the role honey plays in the digestion of meat? I find I really crave it sometimes, I'm not to worried about the ketosis thing, I just want a strong stomach again.

And I'd prefer honey & frozen steak!

I like the garden of life "primal defense" powder, it's great because no pills to digest and it's less expensive.

Any places around that you can forage for wild greens or herbs?

Be careful re raw, zero carb as some cannot handle it after a few weeks or months. Then again, you may be one of those who thrive on such a diet.

EM(effective microorganisms) products might be an option if you are unable to make high-meat.

EM always seems highly yeasty to me but if its something you are into look into Teraganix brand.  Basically by eating wild greens and herbs you will be consuming native probiotics from the plant themselves and also the environment they are in, the forest, the soil, etc...they will be live, fresh, natural and free.

Hmm good point jessica. I ate an earthworm today :o , I wonder if that was a good idea??? But the less plants I eat the better. Sometimes I eat the scoby off my fermented Jun culture, but it's taste is very vinegary - so doesn't feel very paleo!

And tyler many people handle ZC, but most cook their meat. Is that what you mean?

No. I mean that quite a number of people do badly on ZC, whether raw or cooked. I happen to be one of them. I did wonderfully for the first 2 weeks of going RZC, but it started going heavily downhill after the 3rd week. Obviously, if people have not  really recovered on a raw, omnivore diet, that they should go RZC, but if they do fine on either type of diet, a raw omnivorous diet is easier.
